How long does it take for the recipient area hair to blend with native hair? (Photo)

I just had my procedure done one week ago. I think I got nearly all the scabs and crusts off. It is now still very noticeable and much darker on my implanted area. Was the procedure done properly? If so how long should I expect to wait before it blends and looks more natural? I understand I will have shock loss/shedding of the new hairs in the next 2-3 weeks as well.

It may take six to twelve months to appreciate the results of a hair transplant surgery.  If you are concerned it is best to contact your doctor.

First regrowth should be observed on 3-3.5 months. Regrowing hair is thin, undersized and not bright untill 4-5 th months of hair transplant. İt's normal for new growing hair starting to get native characteristics, waviness, curl in first 4-5 months..This actually takes 10-13 months for hair to become full mature , as thick and bright as native hair.

It is very early to assess, but it is my opinion that you will need more time for healing, shedding of transplanted hairs and regrowth before you can judge it.  However, the grafts look darker, perhaps they are larger calibre, and the middle front looks thinner as it was not transplanted. Once the hair has grown, it should blend in, but you will need work in the mid-front zone. In the meantime, follow the post-op regime you were given as per your physician’s instructions. It can take up to 12 months to see the final result and should you have further concerns, you should contact your surgeon to assess your results.

I see nothing out of the ordinary from the photos you provide.  If you have concerns about the appearance of your grafts an in-person evaluation by your surgeon would be warranted.  It will be months, up to a year, before you see your final results.

Your post operative healing process looks good. The transplanted hairs will shed between 2 and 4 weeks. Scalp will look similar to preoperative condition as long as grafts were implanted properly.
