I want to pursue a BBL but need a tummy tuck. I am hesitant to have a tummy tuck because I am unsure if I am done having kids. Can I get a BBL without a tummy tuck? I don't mind the potential of excess skin but want good BBL results. My concern has always been lack of hips and butt. If i get a tummy tuck and have more kids, is it a waste of money?
Answer: Tummy Tuck & BBL After Having Kids Thank you for your question. If you're planning to have kids, I recommend waiting to have your tummy tuck. That said, at my practice, I perform many BBL and tummy tuck combo procedures. However, if you're considering having a BBL and tummy tuck done individually, then it makes sense to do the tummy tuck first. Then 4-5 months later, a BBL can be performed. The reason being that if you have significant excess skin and you get liposuction in that area, the area will look wrinkled, scarred, and irregular. Also doing significant liposuction on the abdomen and then having a tummy tuck later can predispose you to wound healing complications after the tummy tuck. I would recommend getting a proper evaluation by a board certified plastic surgeon. Take care, Moises Salama MD, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Pregnancy after tummy tuck Subsequent pregnancy can negatively impact the results of a tummy tuck. While there’s no guarantee this will happen for you, it’s very likely. For this reason, you may want to seriously consider waiting until after you’ve had kids before getting a tummy tuck. Depending on what you’d like to achieve from your BBL, you can get a BBL without a tummy tuck. The amount of fat removed can be limited to minimize the risk of saggy skin.

Answer: Need a tummy tuck but might have more kids. Is it a waste of money to get surgery now? Having lipo and transferring that fat to the hips and buttocks should not be a waste of money. Pregnancy can change the shape and size of your buttocks depending on how much weight you gain during the pregnancy. If you are planning to have more kids, the skin will stretch and lose muscle tone requiring another TT to remove the excess skin to flatten the abdominal area.

Answer: Need a tummy tuck but might have more kids. Is it a waste of money to get surgery now? Hello and thank you for your question. If you are planning to have children in the near future, I would recommend delaying the tummy tuck because during pregnancy, recuts (abs) muscles and soft tissue are stretched and this can undo the results of a tummy tuck. You should still be able to undergo liposuction with BBL and sometimes mini tummy tuck can be performed at the same time to treat small amount of skin excess. I would recommend to obtain an in person consultation with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon to further discuss your options and expectations. I hope this helps.Best, Dr. Karanetz Dr. Irena KaranetzFellowship-TrainedBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Tummy tuck Dear Exquisite44512, it is a probably better option to wait until you are done with pregnancies and then get a tummy tuck. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.
