Am I eligible to have my breast implants removed?

So sorry you are having these issues but you do have options.
They include removal of the implants or exchange them for a smaller implants that better fit your body type. If you decide to remove them, your breast size should return to the same dimensions as before you had implants and I do not believe the skin will be stretched out. After 7 months with your implants, your skin has likely stretched to accommodate the implants, but it should still be able to adjust after explantation. You won’t lose your breast tissue, but you may experience some changes in shape or volume, especially in the upper breast. If you’re looking for a natural result, discussing your concerns with a surgeon who specializes in explantation and natural breast aesthetics is important. A surgeon can help determine whether additional procedures like a lift or fat grafting are necessary to achieve the look you want. It's also worth noting that healing and reshaping take time, so patience is key as you work toward your ideal outcome.

These are very good questions, however, it is difficult for any plastic surgeon to answer this without photos or an examination of your breasts. The breast skin typically tightens/retracts over a period of months to even a year after removal of breast implants. Skin retraction is highly variable from patient to patient due to several factors such as patient age, the thickness of one's breast tissue, the length of time that the breast implants have been in place, and the patient's natural skin elasticity. Some things that may be more favorable in your case are that you do not have excessively large breast implants currently in place. One of the things that a breast implant removal surgeon could determine on a physical examination is the quality of your breast skin tone. This determination would help considerably in helping guide you with the need for any further procedures, if necessary, such as a breast lift. To answer your second question, with breast implant removal surgery, typically no significant amount of existing breast tissue is removed. I wish you great success with your surgery if you chose this.

Removing your implants will not affect the existing breast tissue. Even if a capsulectomy is done, very little breast tissue is removed. Similar to pregnancy, the skin should shrink and contract over several months and return to your preoperative appearance.

Having insurance cover it under the above circumstances is not possible.
You will not lose the remaining breast tissue and your skin should rebound mostly. However, that will take time. I would need to see pictures and/or perform an exam to guide further. Hopefully the surgeon you got the augmentation with would help guide you. I would want my patients to love their results and my work.

Whether or not your breasts go back to the way they were after implants depends on the natural characteristics of your breast tissue and connective tissue. This is related to age, past weight loss or pregnancy, and other factors. For the most part, with the size you describe, you should have very few permanent changes.

It is unfortunate that you are unhappy with your implants. You can certainly remove the implants and your breast volume will go back to pre-op condition most likely. I suggest that you discuss it with your Operating Surgeon.

Hello @dontstartnow17, thank you for your question. To remove the implants, you will need to wait at least 4 more months and let your body heal. As for losing breast tissue, depends on the surgical technique of the specialist who performs the surgery. If breast implant removal is performed with breast reconstruction, the mamary tissue is reacomodated. Consider that removing implants and capsules will benefit the patient's health. This procedure is done definitively. That means no more implants. The reconstruction of the breast ensures the repositioning of the mammary tissues and improves the overall appearance of the breast. The fullness of the breast will depend on the amount of mammary tissue that a patient has, and this can be improved through lipo injections later on. You should be able to remove these at this time without affecting your prior breast shape significantly. Changes to breast tissue and skin usually take longer to become permanent.
