I just noticed that my right breast has severely deflated compared to my left one. I had the implants put in in 2011 so it has been about 11 years. At tis point I don't think I want new implants, just remove the old ones. I am very worry about this I don't want to get an infection although I know most likely the saline should be absorbed by my body. I am somewhat terrified and in shock I don't know what to do now. How long can I go before getting surgery? Thanks!
Answer: Leaking Saline Breast Implants There is no rush to have your leaking or ruptured saline implants out. At some point when you are ready you would want to have them removed, because over time that can at times "poke" your tissues and become uncomfortable. It is a very simple procedure to have them removed. Hope that helps.

Answer: Implant removal after saline rupture Hello, thank you for your question. I understand how alarming it can be to notice significant changes in your breast, especially after having implants for so many years. The deflation you’re experiencing, particularly after 11 years, can understandably cause concern, but it’s important to approach this calmly and systematically. I have attached a video that discuss your concerns/question. While it's understandable to be concerned, the deflation of your saline implant doesn’t immediately pose a serious health risk, especially if there's no infection. The saline will be absorbed by your body, and most likely, there won’t be any lingering complications. The next step is to consult with a surgeon to discuss your options for explantation. If you’re ready to remove the implants and avoid replacements, your surgeon will help guide you through the process, including any necessary steps to ensure the best possible result. Try not to rush into any decisions; take your time to find the right solution that works for you.

Answer: It is recommend to get them removed as soon as possible to avoid any complications Removal of breast implants, intact or ruptured, may have positive implications if patients are symptomatic. A constellation of symptoms associated with breast implant illness, and autoimmune disease are considered when treating patients who have breast implants and are concerned about foreign body reaction. In our office, we begin this journey with a consideration of symptoms and exclusion of obvious autoimmune problems. In many of our patients, en bloc removal of breast implants with capsulectomy is important and beneficial. Further clinical evidence about breast implant illness is evolving and will continue to guide treatment. I would suggest removal if there is a possibility of foreign body reaction. Answer: Ruptured implants There is no emergency to have ruptured saline implants removed. You may wish to have the other implant deflated in the office so that the size difference will be less obvious. You can then address the shell removal when it is reasonably convenient.

Answer: Implant rupture Dear sole, if you have ruptured implants, they should be removed. In some cases, it is possible to remove them under local anesthesia. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.
