I just noticed that my right breast has severely deflated compared to my left one. I had the implants put in in 2011 so it has been about 11 years. At tis point I don't think I want new implants, just remove the old ones. I am very worry about this I don't want to get an infection although I know most likely the saline should be absorbed by my body. I am somewhat terrified and in shock I don't know what to do now. How long can I go before getting surgery? Thanks!

Answer: Deflated Implants My advice is to remove them sooner than later. It's not an emergency but waiting months will increase scar tissue around the device and make the surgery more difficult. There is no related health problems bye waiting.

Answer: Ruptured implants There is no emergency to have ruptured saline implants removed. You may wish to have the other implant deflated in the office so that the size difference will be less obvious. You can then address the shell removal when it is reasonably convenient.

Answer: Implant rupture Dear sole, if you have ruptured implants, they should be removed. In some cases, it is possible to remove them under local anesthesia. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.
