Interested in breast implant removal, from 32D to AA. What are my options? Will I need a lift? (photos)

Hi, thank you for sharing your question. It is unlikely that you will need a lift after implant removal. Fat grafting is an options if you want to maintain some volume. I hope this helps.

Removal of breast implants, intact or ruptured, may have positive implications if patients are symptomatic. A constellation of symptoms associated with breast implant illness, and autoimmune disease are considered when treating patients who have breast implants and are concerned about foreign body reaction. In our office, we begin this journey with a consideration of symptoms and exclusion of obvious autoimmune problems. In many of our patients, en bloc removal of breast implants with capsulectomy is important and beneficial. Further clinical evidence about breast implant illness is evolving and will continue to guide treatment. I would suggest removal if there is a possibility of foreign body reaction.

The aesthetic result of removing breast implants leaves each woman with a slightly different aesthetic result. In many cases, fat is used to replace the implant volume with some natural volume. In general, the larger your implants are and the lower your nipple position is, the more likely you may want to consider a lift after your implants are removed.

In my opinion a breast implant removal must be done with an inmidiate breast reconstruction to reposition the mammary tissue and improve the projection of the breast in the upper pole and medial area with the BRALAN Technique (Breast Reconstruction Anatomical Lift Augmentation). it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. You can get implant removal and wait to see the final results. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.

The technique I recommend is explantation and lift using a mini lift. Using a circumareola incision, the implants are removed, your breast tissue is reshaped, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. At the same time or later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired.

Thank you for your question and posting appropriate pictures. You seem to be a very good candidate for breast implant removal and fat injection to replace most of the volume that you have lost. Good news is that I have found fat injection at the same time as explant to have the best long-term results. It does not seem that you would need a breast lift to achieve a nice result postoperatively. It is best to have a virtual consultation to discuss options, of course.

Thank you for your question. Once you remove the implants you will likely need a small lift. This can probably only be done with the vertical only mastopexy. Fat grafting is a great option and said I’ll provide you with some volumes. Unfortunately, it’s not going to completely replace the volume that you’re losing when you take out the implant. If you wanted more volume you could always go for an additional round of fat grafting after a few months. Good luck.

You don't have much breast tissue to support fat, so implants would be the better choice. I would suggest going down in size, like 250-300 cc's, and profile to something that you are more comfortable with and like. You did not like your breasts before surgery and may not like them once the implants are removed.

When you have the implants removed your skin will retract to a degree. You may have some looseness to the skin from where it has permanently stretched to accommodate the implants. It does not appear you will need a lift. Be sure to follow your surgeon's post op instructions for optimal results.
