Can a damaged crown post be drilled out and removed?

My post broke on my crown. Roughly in half. The dentist was able to re-cement the crown but it is loose. But, its loose again and feels like it is close to falling out. Dentist said if this one broke i would 'have' to get a bridge. I really would prefer to avoid extracting the tooth or putting in a bridge. The current crown/post held out for about 30 years. I would just assume drill the post out and have a new crown put in.

Many factors go in to creating a crown.  It is necessary to have a very skilled ceramist to ensure a natural and precise result.  Don't have the crown permanently placed until you are happy.

I don't see a reason to wait.  Perhaps see an endodontist to evaluate the nerve.  If it needs to be done go ahead and do it.  If not, have the crown completed.  Good luck.

I always recommend any orthodontic treatment be done before placing crowns unless the crown is urgent. If the tooth in question is stable, move it first. Sometimes attachments need to be placed on teeth when using aligners. Those don't adhere well to crowns and sometimes can do some damage to a...
