Why do I get always get lumps after filler that don't go away? (Photo)

There can be some swelling and/or lumps after lip injections which can last 1 to 2 weeks. You can apply firm pressure between two fingers on the lips for a few days, for 5 minutes at a time, in order to help decrease swelling and even out the lumps. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have the filler dissolved with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. Best, Dr. Emer​​

In our experience, temporary lip filler treatments can lead to areas of permanent scar tissue. Sometimes, lip fillers can cause small minor salivary glands to become more visible and palpable on the lip, typically the lower one. It's difficult to know why you are getting lumps after your filler treatment. Often they are a result of injector technique, but that doesn't seem to be the case for you since you consistently have the same issue regardless of injector. Have your injectors confirmed the bumps are filler? Did they disappear when you had the filler dissolved? Are they always in the same place and of the same size? You may wish to have them evaluated by a board certified plastic surgeon.
