Granulomas are pretty unusual from the use of fillers, but virtually anything can cause them to form in certain areas. A granuloma is the body’s overreaction to an injury that does or does not exist. First step is first and that is getting yourself diagnosed and treated. Neither one of these are particularly difficult, and should be easy to handle by your provider. Most likely you’ll have a normal future response to fillers, but no one can tell you for sure if your chance of having this happen twice is greater than the general public. Get your granuloma, treated and cured and make sure it doesn’t require and then you can consider what you want to do. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
