Hello. I too have seen this occur in some patients.  Your options are to have the product removed, although sometimes the hyaluronidase treatment removes more than expected in the under eye area which can be a downfall.  It certainly can be connected to your menses and can be worsened with excessive salt intake, as might occur when you eat out with friends or drink too much alcohol.  Therefore, I would suggest limiting these items around the time of your menses, sleep with your head elevated during that time of the month as well, and if necessary, apply a small amount of Preparation H twice daily for 3 days and this might improve the appearance. This can happen and is due to a number of things, if it becomes more recurrent, painful, or red/inflamed I suggest reversal with hyaluronidase.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Typically when this occurs, it is premenstrual. What you do about it will depend on how problematic it it.  When appropriate, letting out some of the filler with enzyme may be helpful.  If the issue is just annoying, but does not persist very long, you can live with it.  I would recommend letting a little of the volume out.

Hello Taunya. I'm sorry about your swelling. It certainly could be related to water retention from your menses. However, it would be better to have an evaluation with your injector/physician. Without a good physical examination of this area, it will be hard to tell online what is causing this repeated swelling.Best wishes. Dr. ALDO
