There is no specific diet that will help with healing. Just follow the guidelines for a healthy diet in general and get lots of rest. Hope that helps!
Thank you for sharing your interesting question. An all around healthy diet is probably best for the healing process. It might be beneficial to take a multivitamin as well. I hope you find this helpful.
In the immediate postoperative period, your best option would be to follow your surgeon's postoperative instructions.
Great question. You would like to eat a high protein diet to help the healing process. Vitamins and minerals are also important but stay away from vitamin E and fish oil that can cause blood thinning and bleeding. Soft diet can be advantageous the first 24-48 hours.Hope this helps,Dr. Gus Diaz
In close consultation with many doctors including Barry Sears PhD of the Zone Diet fame, I always insist on my patients be on certain supplements, stop taking many things that are blood thinners (like Omega 3) and are on a low carbohydrate low salt diet. Complex carbohydrates like rice porridge are large molecules that retain fluid, cause more swelling and I think lead to extended bruising. I put all my patients on a Paleo type diet 1 week before and about 2 weeks afterwards. Very good questions indeed!! I do advice: 2 to 3 gm of Vit C per day. High protein low carb diet. I do work with VitaMedica that have Surgical Vitamins to speed up recovery . you may want to look online. In general you want to avoid carbs (bread, pasta, rice..anything white and processed).
I would suggest that you schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area to discuss using a bit of HA filler like Restylane under that eye to see if that will address the problem. My best, Dr. Sheila Nazarian @drsheilanazarian on Instagram
Thank you for your question. However, without a photo or physical exam, it's difficult to give you recommendations. I advice you to be patient and listen to your plastic surgeon's recommendations for now. Best wishes.Dr. Dhaval Patel
Hello, You should consult with a specialist in cosmetic eye surgery and have a serious discussion about the pros and cons. Don't be impulsive, make sure that your surgeon is accomplished and experienced in this type of surgery. Best of luck to you,
