I have raised bumps along scar that stick up and skin has turned brown... Is this normal?

Thanks for your question. The lumps under your skin are undoubtedly scar tissue that your body has laid down as a part of the healing process. It may be related to the dissolvable stitches, but it's hard for me to say. These will gradually improve with time if you do nothing, but I agree that massage can be helpful. As far as the pigment change, people with darker skin (think people of southern European ancestry, Asians, and Hispanics, for instance) can deposit pigment into incisions and wounds. We don't quite understand why, but it does happen. It happened on my arm, in fact, after I got scratched with a stick while doing yard work! It will gradually fade with time, but lightening creams containing hydroquinone or other ingredients can be helpful. Hang in there. These things will all improve with time.
