I had a hip replacement surgery more than 6 months ago and have a deep dimple around the scar. Like the fat resolved around it. Can it be fixed?
Answer: How to fix post op deformation? Fat has been lost in the area of the depressed scar. Fat grafting is usually a good option for correction

Answer: How to make your scar look better The depression of your scar can almost certainly be helped, but probably not completely fixed. A combination of scar revision/removal and local liposuction could probably improve the appearance.

Answer: Contour irregularity Once fully healed from surgery you can consider fat grafting to improve the contour irregularity. Fat can be harvested from another area and injected into the area that concerns you. See a board certified plastic surgeon near you for a consultation.

Answer: Fat transfer to scar Thank you for sharing your question! You may be a candidate for filler or autologous fat grafting. Fat grafting takes your own fat from another part of your body (like your tummy) and is specially prepared and placed into the area of concern. This can help disguise irregularities and scars. The same can also be done with fillers like Juvéderm. The appearance of the scar itself can be masked with a combination of microdermabrasion, non-ablative lasers, and micro-RF (microneedling). I suggest making an appointment with a board-certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options in more detail!

Answer: Postop scarring After any surgery there can be a scarring process underneath that may sometimes cause retraction of the skin. There are various options that can help with it, in my practice I would recommend doing ultrasound assisted liposuction for breaking the scar and afterwards doing fat transfer to help with the dimple.
