Double breast implant rupture - Should I be concerned and how long should I wait before removal?

Hi there I’m hoping to get some answers I only got my Breast implants three years ago and now I am super dizzy sick all the time tight chest and feel like it’s hard to breathe but my oxygen is still good and I just found out that I have double breast implant rupture that are leaking I have silicone implants. Should I get these out right away and should I be worried I feek awful!! It only started about 5 months ago but the symptoms are getting awful! And my heart rate is never under 100.

Dear Brave295162, Wow this is really unheard of. (especially Mentor) You should be getting checked for everything right now. (also rule out a panic attack).  There is a warranty with your implants that gives you financial assistance for removal and replacement in the first ten years if they are ruptured.  Contact your doctor and have the procedure sooner rather than later if you feel this is causing your symptoms. They need to contact Mentor, open a claim, and return the explanted devices to the company for warranty reimbursement.

Treatment of ruptured silicone implants  is generally not considered a medical emergency. Your symptoms may not even be caused by the rupture. But with your progression and anxiety, it would be wise to have them removed or replaced whenever feasible.

Hi.  Although it is not an emergency, once you are aware that your implants are ruptured, you should arrange to have them removed or replaced.  Talk to your surgeon ASAP to make it happen.

I would suggest discussing your medical issues, like breathing with your medical doctor first. Once that has been resolved, then have your implants replaced. The new gel implants do not "leak" like the old gel implants, but rather the gel stays fairly well in place. Should you want, consider saline implants for the replacement.

Removing ruptured implants isn't an emergency but as you've mentioned that you are having worsening concerns, it is best to have them removed as soon as reasonably possible.  Visit with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your surgical plan.
