Thank you for your question. My colleague Mr Rohit Seth and I regualr carry out these procedures and both of us have used the 5 mm implant without any major concerns. The main issue with a 5 mm implant is that you have to get used to the volume. If you are not sure then it is worth having filler first to allow your lip sand yourself to get accustomed to the look. A 5 mm implant equates to about 1.5 mls of filler. Most of our patients tend to go for the 5 mm implant. It does depend on your overall lip shape and size. If you have very thin lips, then a 5 mm might be too big and a 3 or 4 would be better. It would be advisable to seea surgeon who can assess your mouth size and advise appropriately on what would sit well with you. I hope this is helpful
Hello, thank you for your questions regarding Permalip lip augmentation. In regards to the difference between a 4 mm and 5 mm Permalip lip implant, there is basically little to no difference in terms of complications rate. By far the majority (95%) of my Beverly Hills and Las Vegas patients select the 5mm Permalip lip implant. They choose the 5mm for both the upper and the lower lip. My patients choose the largest Permalip implant size to get the biggest lips possible. in my experience, complication rates between the 4mm and the 5mm are the same. Complications from the Permalip permanent lip implants include scarring, implant shifting, lip asymmetry, lip implant infection, lip implant rejection, need for revision surgery, partial or complete lip numbness, and sensation of a foreign body in the lips. Fortunately, in experienced hands, these Permalip lip implant complication are very rare. Please go for the 5mm Permalip. I don't think you will be disappointed. If you have more questions regarding the Permalip permanent lip implant procedure, please call my office. Sincerely Dr. Katzen.
I've done many Permalip implants. I only use the 4mm and 5mm. I had problems with the 3mm implants because since they are so thin, they had a high likelihood of shifting after surgery. I've had that happen only a couple of times with the larger implants, but not very often. If it happens, it's fixable! The only people that don't do well with lip implants are people with "long upper lip" syndrome. Those people need a lip lift procedure, then maybe an implant. Good luck!
There is such a small difference in the 2 sizes that I cannot imagine having a problem with them due to size. Consult with a highly experienced board certified plastic surgeon for an evaluation.
Occasionally some patients can experience some numbness or sensation change after lip implants are placed. This is typically temporary and normal sensation returns after a few weeks to months. In my experience, I have never seen permanent lip numbness from lip implants. Best of luck!
Thank you for your question. Permalip implants come in different lengths therefore measure specifically for your size. Also, come in different volumes, 3mm, 4mm and 5mm. If you want a natural appearance then the medium sized implant would be appropriate for you. Please make sure you find a r...
Thank you for your question regarding whether a lip lift can be done at the same time as Permalip lip implantation. I would not suggest you have insertion of Permalip permanent lip augmentation with a silicone implant performed at the same time as a lip lift. I would suggest you first have the ...
