Thank you for your question and picture. Permalip surgery can cause trauma to the lips therefore making them very sore and swollen. This appearance is typical after 1 day. Please use ice packs to help the swelling reduce. All The Best
Lip implants can cause significant swelling that distorts the appearance of your lips. While your swelling is significant (possibly more than the average) but still within the expected amount for one day post op from lip implants. Swelling will significantly improve 5-7 days after lip implants. Most people will still have some swelling for weeks to months after their procedure. Some patients swell much more than others, so don't panic yourself by comparing to others online. The larger implant size of 5mm tends to swell more than the 4mm size. Keep icing your lips on and off for the first 24-48 hours. No need for steroids, just more time to heal. Best of luck!
It is quite normal to have a significant amount of swelling after lip implants. Of course, everyone is different. Steroids are not a good idea as they may predispose you to infection. Ice is very helpful for the first one to two days to help decrease the swelling down the road. Give yourself a good 10 days to get over the acute swelling but residual swelling of the remaining 10% or so may take as long as a few months to resolve. If you have any lingering concerns, then I would address this with your surgeon. I wish you the best.
What you're experiencing is normal. Steroids will not help -- it may actually hurt! The swelling is just from the trauma of the operation. Continue icing and it will get better over the next few days. Good luck!
You should expect the enormous lip swelling that you have. Putting implants into the lips is very traumatic to the tissues which swell a lot anyway even with minimal trauma.
It is not unusual to experience swelling for a few days after lip implant surgery. I would continue icing and follow instructions from your surgeon.
Thank you for asking about your Permalip implants.Provided the implants are placed at the right depth, patients are happy with the results. It is worth doing if you are getting a lot of filler to maintain the look you want.If I had thin lips or wanted a fuller look, I would have it done.My...
Good Day. Thank you for your question.Smoking is not good for wound healing. The carbon monoxide limited oxygen carrying for one month before surgery and causes shrinkage of blood vessels (vasoconstriction) for two weeks prior to surgery and during its use.So stopping smoking before any surgery ...
Although it's been two months since your operation, you might still be experiencing some delayed swelling and some movement in your lips. I would follow this up with your surgeon as the implants might need repositioning.
You still have some residual swelling and I suggest waiting several more weeks before seeing the final result. If you want them to be bigger at that point you can switch to a larger implant, if you don't have it, or you can always have smaller amounts of filler added to give you the perfect...
Hi, I have performed many lip augmentation procedures using dermal fillers or lip implants for over 30 years. The Permanent Lip implant is placed in a subcutaneous soft tissue space where the two lips meet. In other words at the edges of the lips farthest away from the vermillion (lip to sk...
Thank you for your question. Permalip Implants are a great permanent solution to volumised lips. Patients will experience movement of the Permalip initially until the body form scar tissue around it, preventing it from moving side to side. A week course of antibiotics should be given aft...
