Is my mouth too small for lip implants? (Photo)

Question

I have a small mouth and very thin lips. I've had fillers but after a few weeks the product seems to 'vanish'... so not an option for me. But I wonder, since a have a rather small mouth and my ps only uses the 5mm implants, won't that be 'too much'? I'm afraid that the implant will be to long for my lips... maybe a strange question but I would like to get your opinion... my ps just said : ''you don't have a small mouth'' What do you think? Thank you for your question.  Permalip implants come in different lengths therefore measure specifically for your size.  Also, come in different volumes, 3mm, 4mm and 5mm.  If you want a natural appearance then the medium sized implant would be appropriate for you. Please make sure you find a reputable and qualified plastic surgeon.  All The Best.

The Permalip implants come in 3 lengths 55mm, 60mm and 65mm.  To properly perform Permalip lip implants it's important to measure your lips and choose the length that best will fit your lip length.  Implants that are too long will create an unnatural stitched appearance to the lips and implants that are too short may have a tendency to shift in the lips.  The Permalip lip implants also come in 3 diameter sizes (3mm, 4mm, 5mm) that will provide different volume of fullness to the lips. In my personal opinion, the 4mm size is a better fit for patients that have thin lips. In thin lips the 5mm implant tends to cause a "shelf" along the upper border of the lip even when place correctly along the wet dry border of the red lip.  You have to think of the lip as a tube and if the lip implant is bigger than the "tube" you are going to feel and see the fullness above the vermillion border of the lip.  The 5mm lip implants works best in patients with fuller lip volume that can better accommodate the additional implant size.  You are a good candidate for Permalip implants, but I would consider consulting with a board certified surgeon that can offer you the option to best meet your goals  and measures your lips for the appropriate length.  Best of luck!

Hi,Thank you for including a photo. Your lips/mouth are not too small for silicone implants. The type of implants that I use are PermaLip implants, they come in 3 mm, 4 mm, and 5 mm options. I use the 4 mm size most frequently and that is what I would recommend for someone with thin lips that wants a natural appearance.
