I currently use Juvederm Ultra to create the appearance of larger lips. However, my Cupid's Bow is long, and I am feeling the need to not only have more obvious results, but stop paying for lip injections twice a year. I am considering getting a lip lift for a more youthful look, as well as Permalip implants to make them fuller permanently. Is this possible, and how much would the cost be altogether? Attached are what my lips look like now, and a general idea of what I want them to look like.
Answer: Permalip lip permanent implants lip augmentation sensation silicone implants lift combined procedures Thank you for your question regarding whether a lip lift can be done at the same time as Permalip lip implantation. I would not suggest you have insertion of Permalip permanent lip augmentation with a silicone implant performed at the same time as a lip lift. I would suggest you first have the Permalip permanent lip augmentation procedure done first. I would suggest you go with a relatively large size, like a 5mm. In my experience, sometimes by just doing the Permalip lip augmentation, many patients do not need a lip lift afterwards. You can always have the lip lift performed after the Permalip lip augmentation, if needed. When seeking Permalip permanent lip augmentation, please seek an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon who has performed hundreds of permanent lip augmentations. If you have any more questions regarding Permalip permanent lip augmentation with silicone implants or the lip lift procedure, please contact my office. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen.

Answer: Lip Lift & Permalip Thank you for your question This surgery aims to reduce the distance between the top of the upper lip and the base of the nose. Surgery not only shortens the cutaneous lip (the skin between the nose and the red lip) but it also allows for a more prominent vermilion (the red portion of the lip), thus creating a perfect cupid’s bow. A fine incision that is hidden along the base of the nose is made, (it is shaped a bit like the horns of a bull). The skin is then elevated and a predetermined amount of skin is removed. The closure of the skin pulls the lip upward and towards the nose resulting in the desired improvement. It can be performed the same time as having the Permalip implant. They are revolutionary lip impacts in different sizes and designed to look and feel natural yet they would create the result I think you are after. Performed under local anaesthetic a small incision is made in the corner of your mouth and your desired sized implant is then slotted in. The implant will not impair lip movement and if you wish to go larger or go back to your original appearance then the implants can be simply removed. I hope you find the treatment that is right for you and please remember to find a board certified surgeon.. Good luck!

Answer: Lip lift and permanent lip implants Both these procedures would be helpful in achieving the look you imaged in the picture. From the pictures you have a long upper lip which causes your lips to protrude outward with volume rather than the fuller, pouty appearance you desire. A lip lift will allow more of your lip to show and give a more turned up appearance as the lip is lifted to a shorter distance from your nose. Furthermore, a little teeth show would also enhance the appearance of your mouth. The lip lift alone would not achieve the volume you desire and a permanent solution for this is the permalip implant. Both a lip lift and lip implants can be performed together, but I prefer to separate them in most patients to avoid extra tension from the swelling on the subnasal incision to optimize its healing and create a thin barely noticeable incision line.

Answer: Lip Implant and Lip Lift It is perfectly safe and appropriate to place lip implants at the same time as preforming a sub nasal lip lift. The combination of both ensures a more complete upper lip augmentation result from mouth corner to mouth corner.
