36 yrs old. Within the last 8-12 mos. saliva glands under my jaw descended & the skin lost elasticity. Been checked by doctors & had mri, there is no medical reason for it, & I'm told my glands are normal sized. I take care of my skin. I had radio frequency treatments in that area in Feb. I've been on Lyrica & pain meds since Jan. Any ideas as to why it happened? What are my options for fixing it? Neck lift with basket suspension or resection? The full face pic is me (on the left) one year ago.

Thank you for your question. To provide a valid medical opinion I will need to see pictures of your face from different angles. I would suggest to be treated by board certified plastic surgeon with experience in this procedure, to get the best desired results.

It's difficult to say without the benefit of a formal evaluation. This is my expertise and a huge portion of my practice. Asymmetry is normal and expected. See an expert who does facial shaping with surgical and non surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.
I have used dissolving sutures (PDS long acting) for this problem in our practice for over 10 years with excellent results. The sutures have to stay for 2-3 months, if they dissolve sooner, then the lift may sag.
