You would need an evaluation followed by surgical removal using small incision lipoma removal.Best, Dr. Karamanoukian#Realself100 Surgeon
Thank you for sharing your excellent question. The definite treatment for lipomas is a small in-office procedure to remove the lipoma and any surrounding scar tissue. See a plastic surgeon in your area in consultation, they can offer you the best treatment plan.
Unfortunately, the best and only treatment for lipoma is removal. This can be easily accomplished in the doctor's office with local anesthesia. Good luck!
I would recommend it be removed while it's small it's either going to stay the same or get bigger . I would recommend you find a board-certified plastic surgeon by the American Board of plastic surgery who has experience in lipoma removal . Best of luck Dr. Michael Gartner
In the U.S. lipomas that are not symptomatic are not covered by insurance.BestH karamanoukian MD FACS
It sounds like this can be removed using a small incision directly over the mass. The procedure is relatively minor (although there are risks to all surgical procedures). You should be seen in person by a board-certified plastic surgeon to assure that it is only what you say it is (anything that is near this spine raises additional concerns) and then it will hopefully be taken care of expeditiously. I hope that this helps and good luck, Dr. Alan Engler, Member of #RealSelf500
I would recommend you follow your surgeons directions but most cases you could shower the next day.Best of luckDr. Michael Gartner
Pain and sensitivity usually resolves after surgery. I would discuss the symptoms with your surgeon to see if there are any concomitant problems. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian#Realself100 Surgeon
