I workout 5 days a week with 2 of the days being arms. Nothing too hardcore but simple pushups and 10 lb dumbbells for toning, that usually do make my shoulder alittle sore. Should I stop doing arms or working out all together a couple weeks before surgery for my muscles to relax since I am going under the muscle? Thank you.
Answer: Work out before surgery Your usual workout will not adversely affect your results. However, don't overexert yourself and strain your body prior to and after your surgery. Also, avoid medications such as aspirin, advil or aleve that can interfere with your platelets and cause excessive bruising and bleeding. Follow the guidelines your surgeon has given you after surgery. Good luck!

Answer: Workout Pre-op/ Some advise: Congratulations for being a fit person!Certainly, Pre-op preparation of each patient is very important for a successful and and less risk procedure.Aerobic training of low intensity the days before the procedure is recommended for the many advantages that exercises offer to cardiovascular, respiratory and metabolic systems. On the other hand, you should avoid high intensity sports or heavy lifting, to prevent injury and inflammation of any body areas, blending certain size/shape parameters, that are very important for to the plastic surgeon.Kind regards,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

Answer: Is it necessary to stop working out prior cosmetic surgery? Ask your plastic surgeon about it #plasticsurgery #workout Patients scheduled for surgery may or may not be asked to stop physical activity ( working out) several days after surgery. Sometimes excessive exercise may decrease the blood platelets and therefore increase the risk of bleeding during surgery. Personally, I have operated in multiple physical trainers that literally work out the day before and I have had no bleeding complications. The need to stop working out several days prior surgery depends on your surgeon's medical advice preference. Patients that are very active physically should discuss with their Board Certified Plastic Surgeon about the need of stopping working out several days after surgery
