Liposuction would make a big improvement and then you can diet and exercise to improve the results and continue to look better and better. A tummy tuck always gives the best results but lipo will improve you a lot and be worth doing it now.

Thank you for your question. Per my office policy, I do not perform surgery for patients who have a BMI above 35. I follow these guidelines for safety reasons and to minimize the risk of post-operative complications. With your current height and weight your approximate BMI now is around 38. If you came to my office for a consultation I would tell you that you would need to be lose a little under 20 pounds to qualify for surgery. I suggest losing a little more weight and then scheduling a consult with a board certified operating surgeon who can discuss options with you. Hopefully this was helpful and best of luck!

You need to lose weight first before undergoing any cosmetic procedure to get the best outcome. For best results, it is recommended to be at your ideal or stable weight before getting a sculpting liposuction procedure. Liposuction is not a weight loss procedure, rather it is for sculpting and defining and removing problem areas that cannot be removed with weight loss and diet / exercise alone. Dear spencebrezmGenerally speaking, you want to reach your goal weight before you consider a surgery, otherwise your results will be suboptimal if you continue to lose weight after the surgery. Also, based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a TT. Full tummy tuck should tighten your abdominal muscles and remove the excess skin. spencebrez.  I appreciate your dilemma, however liposuction is not an option at this point. You really need to lower your BMI to around 30 to obtain the best and safest result. Good luck.

Liposuction is one of the most common, as well one of the most commonly misunderstood cosmetic procedures performed by plastic surgeons. 
Liposuction, or suction assisted lipectomy (SAL) as it is also known, allows a surgeon to contour a patient’s shape and address those areas resistant to diet and exercise. 
It is not a weight loss procedure and is best performed on patients who are at or near their target weight (preferably with a BMI < 30). I recommend that patients pursuing weight loss do so beforehand as this will lower their risk profile and optimize their outcomes.
With regards to your specific question, the closer you are to reaching your goal weight the better off you will be. I will typically encourage patients to be with 5-7 lbs of their goal weight for optimal results. Your current BMI of 37.6 would place you in a higher risk profile. It is also unlikely to yield satisfying results as liposuction is a contouring tool and not a means for debulking. I would recommend pre-op weight loss with a goal of a BMI 30  (less than 35 at the very least).

I recommend a full tummy tuck combined with a full body contouring. For optimal results  your BMI should be less than 30 for elective procedures. I would suggest liposuction on your back and flanks as well if you want. You have choices, but definitely you must be evaluated first to accomplish what you wished. Consult with a certified plastic surgeon.
