I know my body isn’t ready for lifting or running yet. But I feel so tiff and sore from not working out. How long before I can do yoga? I am currently 1 week post op
Answer: Exercise after liposuction Thanks for the question as this comes up a lot. There are a number of different factors. 1) It depends on the type of exercise 2) Depends on the amount/extent of liposuction 3) Depends on how fast you want your final results. I will break it down for you1. Light cardio such as elliptical/ walking on a treadmill/ cycling is usually tolerated at 10 days or so. More intense or aggressive movements like bootcamp/yoga/cross fit/outdoor running requires about 3 weeks due to pain/swelling2. The more aggressive the lipo and the more areas covered the longer your body will be sore and "leaky" meaning when you exercise and the blood pressure goes up (normal with exercise) the areas of liposuction will swell3. Some patients go back to exercise quickly because its so important to them ( I get it, I workout everyday, its hard to let go of that feeling). I do tell them they will get the same final result but will likely take longer to get thereOverall, exercise and a healthy diet are key to maintaining and enhancing your results and also to helping improve overall quality of life, we tailor, our recommendations to our individual patients treatments and desiresDr Neinstein

Answer: Exercise/Yoga after Liposuction-Ask Your Doctor & After care includes RF treatments (Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra) Cellutone/zwave I recommend following up with your Doctor about their protocol regarding exercise after liposuction. After hi definition liposuction, I recommend waiting 3-4 weeks before beginning to exercise and to stop if there is any discomfort. For liposuction after care, I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: When can I do yoga after lipo? I usually have my lipo pts wait 3-4 weeks before resuming yoga. They are usually wearing their lipo compression garment for 4 weeks postop so at 4 weeks, my pts. are done with their lipo garment and can resume all activities without restrictions. Best wishes!!

Answer: Exercises after lipo Thank you for your question. Exercises tend to allow two weeks after PO, gradually: first, gentle walks without sweating, then, you can go to the gym to do aerobics, and, after four months you can stats with machines exercise and start with light weights, and, if there are no problems, only six months after PO may charge "free weights".Respectfully,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
