Liposuction results tend to depend on the elasticity of the skin in the area that is treated. Typically, the skin of the thighs is extremely thin and has poor laxity. Therefore, even if the volume is removed with liposuction, it is difficult for the skin to retract. For this reason, there is often excess skin when performing liposuction of the thigh. If this is a procedure which you choose to pursue, I would recommend a type of skin tightening device to be used with liposuction (VASER, SMARTLipo, J-Plasma, etc).
The results of inner thigh liposuction can vary based on several factors, including the individual's anatomy, skin elasticity, surgical technique, and post-operative care. Here's a general overview of what to expect regarding results:Improved Contours: Inner thigh liposuction is effective in reducing excess fat deposits and improving the overall contour of the inner thighs. It can help create a smoother, more streamlined appearance.Enhanced Proportion: By reducing excess fat, inner thigh liposuction can improve the balance and proportion of the thighs relative to the rest of the body.Skin Tightening: In cases where the skin has good elasticity, liposuction can stimulate some degree of skin contraction and tightening. However, significant skin tightening is not always achieved through liposuction alone, especially in cases of poor skin elasticity.Cellulite Improvement: Liposuction may provide some improvement in the appearance of cellulite, particularly in mild cases, by reducing the underlying fat that contributes to its appearance.Scarring: Liposuction incisions are typically small and placed discreetly, resulting in minimal scarring that often fades over time and is generally not noticeable.Recovery and Swelling: Initially, there will be swelling and bruising in the treated area, which can obscure the final results for several weeks to months. As swelling resolves, the contours will gradually improve.Final Results: The final results of inner thigh liposuction can usually be appreciated around 3 to 6 months post-procedure, once swelling has subsided and the tissues have settled. Results can continue to improve over time as the body fully heals.Long-term Maintenance: To maintain the results of inner thigh liposuction, it's important to maintain a stable weight through a healthy diet and regular exercise. Significant weight fluctuations can affect the outcome of liposuction. It's essential to have realistic expectations and discuss your goals thoroughly with your plastic surgeon during the consultation. They can provide a personalized assessment of what can be achieved through inner thigh liposuction based on your individual anatomy and desired outcomes.
Thanks so much for your question, The procedure can significantly improve the shape and contour of the inner thighs, creating a more proportionate and balanced look. For many people, reducing the size of the inner thighs alleviates discomfort from thighs rubbing together while walking or exercising. Many patients feel more confident and comfortable in clothing, especially in tighter pants and shorts. The goal of inner thigh liposuction is to enhance contours rather than to create dramatic weight loss. Expectations should be realistic regarding the degree of change.Sincerly, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol
Inner thigh liposuction can be a very rewarding procedure however traditionally both the inner and outer thighs have the lowest area patient satisfaction because of the loose skin that it creates. This can lead to ripples and dimples in the skin that resemble cellulite. It is very important for your surgeon to evaluate how much fat needs to be removed and how loose the skin will become. Evaluating the quality of the skin is important too. I would highly recommend whenever the thighs are done to combine the liposuction of the skin tightening technologies, such as the bodytight or the Renuvion. For additional skin tightening, powerful, micro, needling RF devices such as the Morpheus can also help tighten the skin. All of those can be done simultaneous, but you have to find a facility that has all the technologies and experience.
Liposuction of the medial thighs is a popular procedure to reduce excess fat. There are before/after photos located on our website gallery. I would recommend booking a consult with a board certified plastic surgeon like myself to make sure that is the best procedure for your desired outcome.
Liposuction is a powerful debulking tool. If done appropriately and done on skin with good elasticity, you can expect very positive changes. If you have skin that is loose, or with poor elasticity (stretch marks, or previous massive weight loss) you may be left with looser hanging skin following lipo and may need skin removal.
Hello,Thanks for your inquiry. Inner thigh liposuction is a great option to treat stubborn fat pockets in that area. The upper inner thigh is the most common area of concern. The middle inner thigh should never be liposuctioned as this will lead to significant deformities. The lower inner thigh (by the knees) can be targeted, however, it must be very conservative in this area. An important part of determining whether you are a good candidate or not is to assess the quality of skin in the area. If the skin is loose and doesn’t exhibit that it will contract then liposuction alone may lead to loose overhanding/redundant skin. Often times some form of skin tightening is required in these situations, whether it be a thigh lift or energy based modalities. Seek consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to weigh out your options based on the above. Lastly, lymphatic massaging in the post operative period is as important as the surgical procedure to help with contouring and prevent ‘fibrosis’/scar tissue formation.Hope this help!Dr. Dev
My patients are generally happy with the results from liposuction of the thighs. The key is to discuss concerns, talk about realistic expectations, and evaluate the patient to determine if they are a good candidate for the procedure. If these steps are taken before surgery the result is typically positive.
The inner thigh skin is quite thin. The skin may hang after liposuction and sometimes patients need a thigh lift. There are 2 different types of thigh lifts that can be done. One with an incision in the crease and one that goes down the leg depending on how much extra skin is available.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
Hello dear. Liposuction of the inner thigh usually offers good results, especially in people with localized fat and good skin elasticity. It improves body contour, reduces volume, and stylizes the legs, achieving a more harmonious silhouette. The results are long-lasting if a stable weight is maintained, and in some cases, it can be combined with other procedures to optimize the aesthetic result. You can contact us at 829-554-6062 for all the recommendations regarding the surgery.
