Dear Farrow9233,Droopy eyelids should not be a "side effect" of Botox. Droopy eyelids usually occur for two reasons: 1) you have excess eyelid skin and your brows drop or 2) the Botox diffuses into your eyelids producing a true ptosis. For the areas that are usually injected into migraine, you should not be experiencing an eyelid droop. I would recommend visiting your injector and having a discussion with them. They should be able to easily address this with you. Sometimes, eyedrops can help depending on the cause.Good luck,Nirmal R. Nathan, M.D.Certified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic Surgeons
Botox results last up to 3-4 months and can be softened with venus legacy and thermage treatments. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer
A drooping eyelid after Botox injections is related to the muscle injected. This area is well known to injectors and can typically be avoided. If it does occur, a drooping eyelid is temporary and will completely resolve as the Botox wears off.
Hello and thank you for your question. Botox typically is lasting 3-4 months on average. After it "wears off" you should return to baseline. Botox placement for migraines is different than cosmetic botox. Follow up with your provider to make sure it is from the botox injections. You can also discuss options for a better aesthetic result in future!
Droopy eyelid can happen with botox injection which is temporary and resolves when the botox effect wanes. Being said that, droopy eyelid is not very common side effects of botox injection for migraine prophylaxis if migraine protocol and technique is strictly followed. However, brow drop or heaviness may happen relatively more often than the eyelid drop especially in individuals with small forehead. You can always discuss this concern with your Neurologist or physician so that he/she can adjust the placement and dose of the forehead injection to minimize brow heaviness/drop.
Lids can droop after Botox injection if it was injected into the wrong place or if it migrated there on its own, the worst of those symptoms normally last about 2 weeks. Please do check with your provider to be sure that Botox is the cause of the droop and not another process. Otherwise, it is definitely temporary and should be expected to improve.
Thank you for your question. In general, Botox can last from 3-6 months and normal function returns. The timing varies from patient to patient. Often there are two common reasons why a patient can have a droopy eyelid after Botox. The first can happen if the Botox is unintentionally injected into the muscle that allows your upper eyelid to open. This can be partially fixed with a medication eyedrop to help open the eyelid. The second is that when your forehead muscles are blocked, this creates the brow to droop (ptosis) in some patients, which creates a heavy appearing brow or droopy eyelid.
Dear Halouvstars,Thank you for your question. Bumps can form after Botox injection due to swelling but are usually small and temporary. Any long term bump is probably not related to Botox. It may be caused by a variety of other conditions, and you should be evaluated by a board certified plastic...
Botox definitely can be effective in Temporalis muscle hypertrophy. It can also be an effective treatment for migraine headaches when injected properly around trigger points. If your migraine triggers are in your temporalis muscle, you may get both effects simultaneously. If you have health...
Return to your provider to discuss the location and quality of your pain. How long has it been since your injections? If recent, the injection pain is temporary and should resolve on its own. Sometimes Botox can relax specific muscles and transfer more stress to different muscles....
