Answer: Botox/Xeomin/Dysport for Masseter Reduction and Migraines--Results Take 1-2 weeks Botox can be used to slim the masseter and treat migraines. Treating migraines with Botox generally means Botox can be injected into the forehead, around the ear, back of the head, and neck muscles. Side effects are rare. Keep in mind, it takes 1-2 weeks for final results with Botox and results gradually resolve in 3-4 months. However, a series may be needed to get relief. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Botox for migraines and temporal reduction Botox definitely can be effective in Temporalis muscle hypertrophy. It can also be an effective treatment for migraine headaches when injected properly around trigger points. If your migraine triggers are in your temporalis muscle, you may get both effects simultaneously. If you have health insurance, they MIGHT cover Botox for migraines (it still seems variable, unfortunately). Make sure to find a Plastic Surgeon who has some experience in Botox for migraines and migraine surgery. Good luck!

Answer: Botox to temples I have used botox to successfully reduce the temporalis muscle bulk in male patients. It may or may not alleviate migraine issues however depending on the source of migraines. There are several trigger areas around the face and neck which can create migraines. If the temporalis is causing your headaches, then it may help. If the trigger is in another area, you may not have any migraine benefit from the botox injections. Hope this helps!Johnson C.
