I am almost 5w post-op from full TT, flank lipo, BA lift w/augmentation. Healing has been going great. Incisions are all closed and just minor swelling in my lower abdomen. I do not want to buy new clothes until my figure is at it’s final result but on top of losing 8 lbs post-op, I am swimming in my old clothes. When can I expect my body to be at its final shape? Thanks.
Answer: When to expect final result after mommy makeover? Congratulations on your recent surgery. It sounds like you are doing very well and on course for a great recovery and result. The complete healing process for a mommy makeover is around 6-12 months. Swelling, especially in the abdomen, may last 2-3 months. With regards to exercise, etc., I release my patients of any restrictions at 8 weeks. When you see a few weeks of consistency in your body's shape and appearance, I'd say go shopping.

It can take up to six months for your implants to completely settle. Most will be fairly settled from a tummy tuck by three months. You may feel like clothes shopping at 3 months. We usually say to our patients undergoing such a surgery that first close to real results are shown between 3-6 months after surgery. Subtle swelling and shape changes due to it, very frequently related to your diet, will camouflage real result for a long time. Stable result is expected to be seen 1 year after most surgeries.
