Thank you for your question. I would not recommend to fly back only 2 days after your surgery. You should follow up closely with your surgeon for at least two weeks when the major part of the recovery is done. The first stage of major resolution happens in the first 2 weeks after surgery. The lateer phase of healing takes place over the 2-3 months after surgery where everything really settles and softens. It is after this time that we are getting close to the final result, though this varies patient to patient. Combination procedures can give powerful results but SAFETY is KEY. You definitely have to choose your surgeon correctly and make sure that he/she has the training and experience to meet your goals with absolute safety. Don’t settle for less than a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with specialized expertise in this procedure.
Thanks for the question. Generally, most patients can fly within 2-4 weeks after mommy makeover operation. I wish you all the best.
Magnitude of surgery and recovery time after MMO usually require that patient stay under direct control of the surgeon for 10-14 days. Most complications that may happen after such surgery happen within first 2 weeks (bleeding, seroma, infection) with exception of DVD which may happen 2 months or even longer after surgery. Follow recommendation of your surgeon. Good luck.
There is an increased risk in blood clots if you fly within 30 days after a major surgery. Also, your surgeon will probably need to see you within a few days. I would suggest postponing your return for at least two weeks and when your surgeon says you are ready to fly. It probably would be best for you to find a surgeon in your area so you can have appropriate follow up care. Otherwise, should you have any complications, you may have to search to find a physician to see you.
Thank you for your important question. In my practice, I recommend the patient's stay close by for the first 2 weeks after surgery especially a relatively extensive procedure like a mommy makeover. I would check with your surgeon but I feel strongly that he would agree that 2 days after surgery is too soon to be flying or traveling any distance by any means. Best of luck.
Thank you for your question. This a very common one.Typically, I do not recommend air travel until at least 2 weeks after surgery.I tell my patient the additional exertion and wound healing, risk of DVT, risk of bleeding, etc is not worth it.Please plan accordingly, and seek consultation from a board-certified plastic surgeon with experience in breast and body-contouring.Hope this helps, and good luck!
Rest assured, that is likely to be challenging experience that you'd likely regret. Yes, you would need to take the proper DVT precautions, no lifting etc, but you will also have a tremendous lack of energy, likely be on narcotics still, probably not be settled in terms of your GI tract, may still be urinating VERY frequently as the retained fluids mobilize, have lots of discomfort - maybe pain, dealing with a drain and - most importantly - if you have a problem how/where are you going to address it.We do a LOT of out of town patients, many of whom leave "too early", but two days truly is pushing the envelope of good judgement. -- in my opinion.
I would not recommend being away from your surgeon only two days after surgery unless you've arranged to see another plastic surgeon regularly at home. Depending on the extent of your surgery I would recommend waiting a little longer after flying regardless. You will still be moving very slowly, likely have drains, some pain is common, and you may be nauseous from the motion. The most accurate opinion will come from your surgeon who is most familiar with your surgical plan. If you do fly, be sure not only to move around as you are able, but also consider compression hose.
Typically I would stage the front procedures (breast, tummy, lipo) and the back procedures (BBL, lipo).I prefer for patients not to lie on their abdomen after a tummy tuck and to avoid pressure on the butt after a BBL (fat is sensitive to pressure and ischemia), so these could be staged. When...
This is not an uncommon problem & it is better that the fluid is coming out, than staying in. 3mm is very small. As long as you are not becoming increasingly unwell with fevers or worsening pain, then it is best to follow your surgeon's advice. They know best what they have down inside!. Ta...
Hello,Thank you for sharing the information, it is a pleasure for me to answer your question. Yes, you can combine the procedures perfectly, to make mommy makeover, if your state of health allows it, Definitely the most appropriate is to start (tummy tuck, liposuction and BBL can also be ...
