What size area does the Coolsculpting device, Cool Core, normally cover successfully in one treatment on abdominal area?

Last March, I had two one hour Coolsculpting treatment consisting of the Cool Core device being used on each sides of my lower abdomen with overlap around the belly button area. I still have a small 5"-6" horizontal area about 1" thick, when pinched, directly under my belly button that is still bothersome. Just wondering if the Cool Core attachment is large enough to take care of this pesky area with one treatment directly under the belly button area verses the two treatments once again?

It all depends on how well this area fits into the CoolCore applicator. The best way is to go back to the practice you were treated and have them fit you to confirm that it is the right size and shape for the area of concern.

Without pictures it's hard for me to tell you but those applicators are traditionally used on your area and in that fashion. Cool Sculpting works well but can take more than one visit and that is totally normal. If you saw some change it is likely you will continue to improve as long as your skin is great. Unfortunately without pictures it is very difficult to give an exact answer. Placement of the hand piece is very important because you want to be sure you don't over treat an area. In my experience the CoolCore can typically cover a "fistful" of fat in one application.  Of course the answer depends on the patient's anatomy.

Thank you for your question.  We always tell our CoolSculpting clients that no matter which area they are treating, or what applicator is used, it will take a minimum of two treatments to achieve optimal results. The Cool Core applicator will treat an area about the size of a hand, and will be removing 20-25% of the fat from that area. This is true of all of the medium sized applicators.  Without actually seeing you and having the chance for an in person consultation, I can't actually know for sure exactly what you require. But, It sounds as though you need to treat the area under your belly button one more time with another Cool Core.  That would be a very common thing to do. I think that you should schedule a follow up visit with your provider to be sure what would get you the best results.  Good luck with everything.

There is no way to say definitively without evaluating you what size would work best. When you are seen for evaluation and treatment, there are sizing guides that we can use to determine which applicator, or combination of applicators, will work best for any given area. It sounds as though the Cool Core might work, but formal evaluation is the best way to ensure you get the appropriate treatment for that region. If you are not satisfied with whatever they recommend, you certainly would not have to proceed.

Hello janetlynne,Thank you for sharing your question. Based on your description it does sound as though this area could be treated with a single CoolCore applicator. However the only way to be sure is have an in person evaluation wherein you could be evaluated to see if there is sufficient pinchable fat for this applicator. It may be possible to use a different applicator on the area, however you would need to see a certified profession for an assessment to determine this.  The CoolMini is used in other areas of the body besides the chin, and is just as effective on those stubborn small spots (i.e. knees, armpit/bra bulge, small pockets on abdomen).  It is the same technology as other applicators and just as efficient.   Hope this helps you in your journey.
