I am going for tertiary rhinoplasty and want to bring down the tip and lengthen my nose so that my nostrils are less visible from front. My surgeon said he will use ear cartilage for that. I have read that rib cartilage is stronger. Which cartilage is better in this case? what are the risks for both? He also said to go for filler rhinoplasty first so that I can see how results will look, and then go for the surgery. Is it safe to go for permanent rhinoplasty within a month of injecting filler?

In general it is ideal to wait at least 12 months before any revision surgery to allow full healing to occur. There may be a few exceptions to this, and this would be best determined by your rhinoplasty surgeon and your particular case.
Hi @Genuine209146! I recommend seeing an expert revision rhinoplasty specialist for an in person examination. There are several options for you that can be determined after examination. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!
Often times, if a dent arises in the nose after rhinoplasty, it can be improved with a filler. If this works, then silicone can be placed which will give a more permanent result. It is certainly easier than going through another surgery. Be sure to see an experienced injector for consultation.
