Giant bubble implant - what could this be? (photos)

Question

I have had my implants for two years now as of last month. I just recently noticed a large lump under my right breast. I had 600cc mentor on left and 550 on right.

Hello, thank you for your question. Its difficulty to definitely say based on a photo. I would go back to your plastic surgeon for a full examination. It is possible that is the implant but if you are saying this is something new can also be a cyst but less likely. For more information about breast augmentation check out our website.

For specific questions like this and about your recovery in general, it is best to speak directly with your doctor or doctor’s representative – such as his or her nurse, or the physician on call for the practice.
You will likely get many differing opinions from members of the RealSelf Community, but they have not personally seen or examined you. Nobody should know you or your unique set of circumstances better than your doctor.

If you feel you are not being listened to or you are doubting your doctor’s recommendations, then it is certainly within your rights to seek a second opinion and get the advice from another board certified physician. This should be done through an in-person consultation with a thorough evaluation, including a review of your history, review of all prior treatment and with a physical examination.

Obviously, if you think that you are having a medical emergency or other serious problem, you should call 911 and/or go to your nearest emergency room.

Without an examination, it would be difficult to tell exactly what the lump on your right breast is.  It may be related to your implants, such as implant rupture or bulging of the implant in that one spot.  The lump may also come from the breast, like a fibroadenoma, cyst, lipoma, or even breast cancer.  I would recommend seeing your plastic surgeon for an examination and further testing as warranted.

It is probably your large implant that is thinning your lower tissue because of the weight and pushing through. However, do let your surgeon examine you.

This lump could be the result of many things.  It may be related to your implants or be a completely separate issue.  I encourage you to return to your surgeon for an evaluation.  She/He will advise on how to proceed based on the findings.
