There is no correct answer. We perform a deep plane face and neck lift which I feel gives the most effective and natural result. All deep plane face lifts are not the same and my advice to you is to find a surgeon who has a practice focused primarily on facial rejuvenation surgery and a doctor that does facelifts very frequently. It is also important that you are very comfortable with the doctor and his/her staff. This is very important.
There is no official ranking list for surgeons, like there is in professional or college sports! You'll have to research those contenders in your area who are well trained, experienced, board-certified, and have lots of good results for the procedures you want to have. But a good place to start is the ASAPS Find-A-Surgeon webpage.I've put the link in, below, for you.All the best,
I perform a type of deep plane facelift called a composite rhytidectomy. There many good surgeons who do variations of this procedure. It will be incumbent upon you to interview several potential surgeons. Make certain you see plenty of pre-and postop photographs.
There are many talented and qualified Board Certified Plastic Surgeons throughout the United States. The "best" surgeon for you can only be found by you! I recommend that you visit with several surgeons to find who has the best understanding of your desires. Be sure to ask to see before and after pictures to make sure that you are comfortable with their results. Best of luck.
Thank you for your question. I would recommend that you visit websites such as the American Society of Plastic Surgeons to begin your search for a board certified plastic surgeon in your area. I would then focus on surgeons who have an array of non-surgical options to complement their surgical practice. I would visit the practice and see how the surgeon develops a plan to address your aesthetic goals and you can also inquire as to their specific techniques such as the deep plane approach.
Thank you for your question. The answer to your question lies with the experience of your surgeon. The Deep Plane Facelift is a technically more involved procedure, as compared with other types of lifts. I recommend beginning your search with a fellowship-trained, board certified facial plastic or general plastic surgeon who has experience with the deep plane facelift. There are many doctors throughout the US, who are experts with this approach. An in-person consultation is required, to see if you are a candidate for a deep plane facelift. I perform the deep plane facelift, the SMAS facelift, and necklift/submental plication. I will customize these procedures to the individual needs of the patient. I hope that this helps, and good luck with your search!-David Gilpin
It appears by your question that you are well informed about facelifting procedures. We perform SMAS, Deep Plane, and Composite Facelifts for our patients. The rationale for performing each of these eyes of lifts varies in our practice depending on anatomy, smoking history, and overall goals. Most of our facelifts can be perfumed using oral sedation and local anesthesia which minimizes risk and recovery. Please refer to the attached video to better understand this process.
Hello SamStevenson,That is a great question, and depending on who you talk to, you will get a lot of different answers. I think a better approach would be to consult with several facial plastic surgeons or plastic surgeons in your area. Take a look at their before and after photos and testimonials to see what you can expect. The reason I mention this is there are several different techniques for a facelift. The deep place is one technique, but it may not be right for you. By consulting with at least two surgeons you will get a better idea of what would be an appropriate treatment. I hope this helps and good luck.
The platysma muscle changes after a neck lift. Majority of the time it continues to be smooth if it has been sutured together under the neck. However sometimes a part of the platysma can become hyper active a few months after surgery as it is recovering and become more pronounced....
Hi fleurs,Of all the things that have been noted to help scars, silicone sheets (worn for at least 12 hours per day for several weeks) are among the treatments that have been shown to be helpful. Other treatments that can be helpful include keeping the wound moist as it heals, wearing daily...
Hi pacificblue,It appears you have lost fat on your left cheek and tear trough area. Your right cheek looks fine, and your left tear trough is slightly showing, but nothing dramatic.I'm not sure what caused this. Your stronger left side looks bigger and wider vertically than your...
Hi Sashaspmm,A facelift is not an option at this point. Facelifts on very young people like yourself, will result in no improvement and only facelift scars to show for it. Facelifts are for loose sagging skin. Young faces can have irregular contours which appear to be sagging,...
It is wise to proceed very carefully before entrusting any surgeon with the health & appearance of your face. There are many very well trained plastic surgeons who come from varied backgrounds. Certainly board certification by the ABFPRS or ABPS is an important indicator of standards...
I tell my patients that it takes about 6 weeks for the grafts to be sealed into place. This is important for haircuts and exercise.
