What can be done with my "buffalo hump?" (photo)

Question

I have a "buffalo hump," though I'm not sure if it's fat, bone, or both. I don't have great posture, so maybe that caused it. I am overweight, so I don't know if losing weight will change the appearance of the hump.

From the photo you provided, it looks like your buffalo hump is composed of fat. No matter what caused it, if you are dismayed by the look of extra fat on your back, liposuction is an excellent choice to remove it. If you'd rather not undergo surgery, you can also look into noninvasive fat-removal techniques such as CoolSculpting and Thermi. These will probably require more than one treatment session, but you'll have less downtime after the procedure. This is a genetically-determined fat storage. It doesn't respond very much to diet and exercise, but fortunately, it is reduced very nicely with liposuction. It's a very straightforward procedure done entirely with local anesthesia.
