Is it possible to have cleavage with my wide chest ? I don't know why I got a big space between my chest after BA. However, my PS never told me I will have separate breast after BA.. I am very disappointed. However, I think it is something PS has to inform before the procedure...
Answer: Looking to Add Cleavage Thank you very much for your question and photographs. This is a common query, as many women are looking to improve their cleavage with a breast augmentation procedure. However, there is no way to increase cleavage, no matter how large of an implant is used. The distance between the breasts will remain the same. By increasing the breast size, the natural amount of cleavage is magnified, and therefore may look more pronounced after surgery. If you have any further concerns, I suggest reaching out to your operating surgeon, who can further explain the difficulty in creating additional cleavage.

Answer: HP Implants are Unforgiving Hello,Looking at your preoperative photo, you could have had a nice, natural result with not a whiff of excessive gap, using lower profile implants. The catch is that you would have had to abandon your size goals (which were not really reasonable based on your anatomic capacity anyway), and use a smaller implant. Nothing to do now but heal and re-visit this issue later. Best of luck!

Answer: Breast Augmentation Thank you for your question! The space between your breasts is called the intermammary distance. During your examination at your consultation appointment, your surgeon likely measured this. This measurement is important to consider when marking and preparing for surgery, and it is unique to each individual patient. This distance can be addressed with surgery, but results can depend on the patient's anatomy. Consult your board-certified plastic surgeon regarding your concerns.

Answer: Cleavage Dear LOLALOLA11,many women seek improved cleavage. Narrowing the cleavage plane can be done very carefully by a skilled surgeon. Moving the implants too far medially can result in synmastia or unaboob which is very difficult to correct. That being said, the right amount of pocket dissection and implant selection can create excellent cleavage. I would suggest you to discuss your concerns with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery

Answer: Breast augmentation and cleavage Breast implants in general do not create cleavage. They enhance your current shape and give more volume. The increased volume makes it easier to create cleavage in clothes. A "uniboob" or symmastia is created when the breasts connect over the breastbone.Dr. Ted Eisenberg, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author
