Is it normal for one incision to hurt more?

I just explanted my implants two days ago. I've noticed my incision on my right side hurts more. Is this normal? I am right handed and it's not terrible pain, just more achy. Also the right breast seems a little more swollen. Is this in the range of normal?

Thank you for your question.  Subtle differences in pain and swelling between breasts is not uncommon, but if the differences worsen, best to see your surgeon for an in-person evaluation.  Hope that this helps.

Yes it is normal for the breasts to heal at different rates and for one to be more sore than the other.  We commonly refer to the breasts as "sisters not twins" meaning each will heal, progress, etc uniquely from the other.

It is in general common for one side to heal differently, or at a different pace, from the other and it does not necessarily indicate a problem.  You should of course discuss this with your own plastic surgeon for a full and complete assessment.It is, similarly, common for one side to be a little more swollen than the other.  In the absence of symptoms such as fever, chills, sweats, etc it is unlikely to be an acute situation, although even that should be determined by your surgeon.I hope that this helps and good luck,Dr. Alan EnglerMember of #RealSelf500

It is not uncommon to experience differences in pain and swelling between breast.  Any concerns should be addressed to your surgeon.
