Yes it is normal for the breasts to heal at different rates and for one to be more sore than the other. We commonly refer to the breasts as "sisters not twins" meaning each will heal, progress, etc uniquely from the other.

Thank you for your question.  Although one incision may normally hurt more than the other, it's important that you see your surgeon to be evaluated and rule out any other issues like infection.  Good luck.

It is in general common for one side to heal differently, or at a different pace, from the other and it does not necessarily indicate a problem.  You should of course discuss this with your own plastic surgeon for a full and complete assessment.It is, similarly, common for one side to be a little more swollen than the other.  In the absence of symptoms such as fever, chills, sweats, etc it is unlikely to be an acute situation, although even that should be determined by your surgeon.I hope that this helps and good luck,Dr. Alan EnglerMember of #RealSelf500
