I told the doctor I wanted a very small amount but I think he did way too much. My top lip is very bumpy and uneven. It looks okay when my mouth is closed but when I talk or smile one side droops and it's very noticeable. I'm not happy at all with it. Will the bumps go away or should I look into getting the enzyme to break it down?
Answer: Bumps and Uneven Lips after Juvederm Injection Hello there madipaige,Thank you for your question and I'm sorry to hear about your concern. Since only 1 week has passed post injection, there very well may still be swelling present, though there could also be a possibility that the product was injected too close to the surface depending on if you actually feel hard bumps. I see my patients 2 weeks after for their follow up because most of the swelling takes about that long to subside. With that being said, if those bumps are still present in 1 week, I would discuss your concerns with your provider and discuss the option of Hyaluronidase. Hope this helps.Kind Regards,Dr. MK

Answer: Lumpy Lips After Juvederm Thank you for sharing your concerns about your recent lip augmentation. Lumps and bumps are completely normal for up to two weeks after initial injections. At the two-week mark, I recommend following up with your injector for evaluation. If the lumps are still visible, your injector may gently massage the treated areas to disperse them, or he/she may recommend dissolving the filler with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. Best of luck with your follow up appointment.

Answer: Uneven lips Bruising and swelling are common with lip injections and can take up to two weeks to subside. If you are still unhappy after two weeks, return to your injector for an evaluation. Until then, gentle massage of the area may help to soften them. Most bumps do soften over time.

Answer: Lumps after Lip augmentation with Fillers (Juvederm, Restylane, Volbella) There can be some swelling and/or lumps after lip injections which can last 1-2 weeks. You can apply firm pressure between two fingers on the lips for a few days, for 5 mins a time, in order to help decrease swelling and even out the lumps. If you're unhappy with your final results you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Lumps & Bumps Lumps and bumps are a common side effect of lip filler. Wait another week to see if they resolve on their own. You can try gently massaging the area and applying ice. If they haven't improved after a couple of week then see your injector. You may need to have the bumps dissolved.
