I have a red rash around my mouth after receiving my first Juvederm injection, don't know what is going on? This normal? (Photo)

1 day after getting the injection, I noticed a small rash forming in the corner of my mouth on the skin surrounding my mouth. Not the injection site. Over the next day, it has gotten worse and I don't know what to do. I've contacted my physician and she prescribed a steroid but I haven't been much improvements. Any topical I could put on it that would help?

Thank you for sharing your question and photograph and I am sorry to hear of your current lip symptoms. It appears that you are having an allergic reaction to the topical numbing agent and alcohol used to prepare your lips for augmentation.  This will improve spontaneously with time but due to its current severity I would advocate for a topical steroid cream in addition to oral steroids.  It should pass quickly.  See your injector for an in-person examination.

It looks as if you are experiencing an allergic reaction to the topical numbing cream. It will clear up with time, but until then, speak with your doctor about getting a topical steroid cream to use in addition to your oral steroids. So sorry that you are experiencing this.

I think this is probably a reaction to the topical used for numbing the lips prior to injection. You might need oral steroids for this. If this gets worse, see the physician or an emergency room doctor.
