Do High Profiles Implants Drop? (photo)

Hello , I had my second BA Augmentation operation coming up 7 months ago.... Although Im extremly happy with the result( I have 695 cc high profile silicone implants ) I was curious if they will settle / drop any further..My husband complains they are still quite full and high... ....... Hello,

	Although your husband feels your implants are still too high, your photo shows a rather low position of the implant in your tissue pocket.  At 7 months, I am concerned they will continue dropping, causing significant ptosis (sagging) of the lower pole of your breasts.  If there is concern of too much upper pole fullness, just wait, it will go away as the implant falls.  If you would like less upper pole fulness sooner, you should change you implants to smaller and lower profile ones.

After 7 months, your breast shape will probably not change any further. The fullness and high level of the implants is probably due to their type and positioning, as determined at the time of your surgery.

Dear Kittling,By 6 months implants have dropped and softened as much as they will.   I agree that you have good results at this point, despite such a large implant for your frame.  Given that you are extremely happy with the results, you should not consider any revisions.

Since you are almost 7 months postop, your high profile implants are unlikely to drop significantly. If you are happy with the results you can rest easy, since this is the way large volume, high profile implants typically look. Changing the projection or fill of the upper pole would probably require an implant exchange.

After 7 months the implants are surrounded by scar capsule formation. So NO they will not drop anymore.

It is hard to tell from a single snapshot in time, but at seven months chances are that these have dropped as much as they will. If you are happy with the result, and I concur with your opinion, don't even think about messing with the implants.

At seven months, your implants are where they will stay. I suspect they have settled a lot since immediately post op. These implants are awfully large given your slight build but if you are happy with them, it was a successful operation! I would leave them alone.

I agree with Dr. Narsete that your concern is related to the size, particulaly the base diameter, of your implants which are quite wide for your frame. If you are thrilled with the size, then all is quite excellent, be happy, and do nothing. It is a very good result. If you want them to be less full in what we call the upper quadrant, the area beneath your collar bones, then swithching to a slightly narrower implant will solve your husband's concerns, the risk of further descent and will also make you a little smaller (less full), if that is your wish.

Based on your photos, your implants are in their intended position. They are full because of their size. In my past experience, this is the look high profile implants give. If you like the size/look , then don't touch them. After 7 months there likely will not be much change. All the best

By choosing HP implants, you were trying to have a full round upper pole. Yours actually look like they have settled substantially and at 7 months, they are what they are. You'd need to consider going down in profile to lose the upper pole fullness.
