CoolSculpting does a fabulous job of recontouring your body by eliminating fatty bulges. It may rarely be appropriate in some cases of large lipomas. However, if you have multiple lipomas and they’re small, it may be difficult to fit an applicator over the small lipomas. In addition, it would most likely be cost prohibitive, as each small lipoma would cost the same as a regular treatment site. Multiple lipomas as you describe are often genetic and you will likely develop more over your lifetime. I understand though that they can be unsightly and bothersome. Treatment is possible, either with Kybella or tumescent liposuction. Both options are safe and effective, although Kybella has not received FDA approval for this indication. Please find a board-certified dermatologist for an in-depth, in-person consultation so that your lipomas can be examined and the best therapy recommended.
The science is just not there when it comes to Coolsculpting treatment for lipomas. I would consult with a plastic surgery expert who does Coolsculpting as well in order to get an educated opinion.
Coolsculpting would not be a good choice for treating the lipomas. You can consider Mesotherapy/Lipodissolve or you would have to excise them out.
Coolsculpting is not a good choice to treating individual lipomas unless it is a huge lipoma that can fit into a cool mini or petite hand piece. A better option may be to use Kybella (off label).
No, I don't recommend Coolsculpting for this. Liposuction is a great procedure for the removal of lipomas. By undergoing liposuction, you are not an increased risk of developing new lipomas. I suggest consulting with a VASER Hi definition contouring specialist for fat reduction, body sculpting and skin tightening. Best, Dr. Emer
I don’t think Coolsculpting would work well for treating lipomas. Best results would probably come with excision.
HiInteresting question! We have seen several patients ask this. Since lipomas vary in size and tend to have fibrous collagen around them, it is more precise to inject them with Kybella to permanently remove them!Warmly, Dr. Liu
Coolsculpting would not be a good option for treating lipomas. Kybella (off label use) or liposuction would be better options.
Coolsculpting is a body contouring treatment designed for reducing unwanted bulges of fat. The most effective treatment for lipomas would be to have them excised. You may want to consult a dermatologist to address your lipoma concerns.
