Is it advisable to use a tanning bed immediately after doing CoolSculpting to break down the fat?

There is no scientific evidence that using a tanning bed immediately after Coolsculpting will do anything substantial to improve your result - nor is there evidence it will complicate your treatment outcome.

Thank you for your question. A tanning bed will not effect the CoolSculpting in any way. It is however very detrimental to your skin. The massage after the treatment is very important and will help break down the fat cells. That should be the main focus directly after the applicator is removed. Good luck!

No, this will not improve your results. Keep in mind, you will have swelling and it can take up to 6 months for final results. To speed up healing, you can try adding hyperbaric oxygen, lymphatic massage, venus legacy or exilis radiofrequency treatments.  For best results, a combination approach is needed. I recommend adding radiofrequency treatments like Vanquish for skin tightening and with Z wave/Cellutone for skin smoothing. However, a Vaser with ThermiRF procedure is the best combination for a toned result, but requires more downtime. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Although you can go right back to your normal routine after CoolSculpting®, including tanning, this is not going to speed up your results in any way and can damage your skin. Because of the adverse health effects of tanning beds, you really should avoid them. However, tanning itself won’t affect your CoolSculpting results, positively or negatively.

It is never safe to use a tanning bed. People who first use a tanning bed before age 35 increase their risk of melanoma by 75%.  Women who have ever had indoor tanning are six times more likely to develop melanoma in their 20's.

After CoolSculpting, your technician will massage the area.  There is no need for heat.

Tanning beds will not have a positive or negative impact on cool sculpting results.  Cool Sculpting treats fat that is much lower than the surface of the skin. That being said I don't recommend using a tanning bed for any reason and certainly not to help your cool sculpting results.  

A tanning bed is not going to help break down fat cells or affect the CoolSculpting treatment.  CoolSculpting uses cryolipolysis to destroy fat cells.  Between the CoolSculpting and the manual massage post treatment, about 25% of the fat cells will die in the treatment area.  

Unfortunately not, using a tanning bed will not have any effect or help to receive better results.

It is NEVER advisable to use a tanning bed for any reason.  Having said that, tanning beds will have no effect on the outcome of a coolsculpting treatment.
