Thank you for your question. The answer varies, as it depends on the way your body responds to surgery, the area(s) being treated and whether you are including any other procedures. In general, expect to wait around six months to see your final results after getting liposuction, though you should have a good idea of what your final outcome will look like by about three months into your recovery.
Swelling can last 3-6 months after liposuction. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. If liposuction was performed properly you should see a significant reduction of swelling within 3-4 weeks. 70% of swelling should reduce within the first 8 weeks, the remaining swelling should go down within 10 months after surgery.
Thank you for your question. Healing after liposuction is usually pretty straight forward. There is a process of swelling and bruising that peaks at 3 days after surgery and then undergoes the first stage of major resolution in the first 2 weeks after surgery. The later phase of healing takes place over the 2-3 months after surgery where everything really settles and softens. It is after this time that we are getting close to the final result, though this varies patient to patient.
hello karenthompson1Most swelling and bruising will heal in the first 2 weeks, but can persist for up to 6-8 weeks. Patients are usually instructed to wear elastic compression garments after the surgery, the period of time will be advised by the doctor. You should contact or visit your PS about this concern.#swelling #postop
Thank you for your question. It typically takes around 6 months for final liposuction results to develop. This is because post-surgical swelling can linger for several months after your surgery date, plus your skin and tissue will need time to adjust to your new contours. Depending on the extent of your procedure, it may even take up to 1 year for your results to develop. Consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon for the best outcome.
Most swelling will go down in 6-8 weeks but there will be residual swelling for 4-6 months and sometimes longer.
We all like to know when our patients are having a normal post operative course. It is important to follow up with your original surgeon and/or his staff. I tell my patients that swelling can last even up to a month! So, make sure you keep your follow up appointments and ask...
It is too early to tell if your skin will flatten out well. There is still plenty of swelling and scarring. Wait at least to the three month mark and if the crease is still present in might be addressed with a mini tummy tuck. #StayBeautiful @RealDrWorldWide
Thank you for your question. Often times patients state they itch after liposuction. This is often caused because the nerves in the treated area are slightly injured during surgery. The itching sensation are those nerves regenerating. Try moisturizing and when the...
