Is it normal to have itching after liposuction?

I had a BBL performed May 2, 2017 so it's been about six weeks exactly I still have my body girdle and I have a waist trainer and for some reason where the lipo has been suctioned it becomes so itchy at times I can't help myself I use hydrocortisone and Benadryl for the itching... is it normal to inch where you have lipo??? Is it itching because my skin is tightening or why is it so itchy

Yes, the skin can be itchy after liposuction as it heals. We give oral antihistamines and topical hydrocortisone. If it persists, I recommend following up with your Doctor. You may also swelling, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. hello notlookingback Most swelling and bruising will heal in the first 2 weeks, but can persist for up to 6-8 weeks, this is usually  accompanied by itching.#postoperation #itching #liposuction

It's normal to experience pitching after liposuction for up to six months. Itching is a mild form of pain. It is also caused by skin dryness from the swelling and trauma. Using a strong moisturizer twice daily will help alleviate symptoms. #StayBeautiful @RealDrWorldWide

Thank you for your question.  Often times patients state they itch after liposuction.  This is often caused because the nerves in the treated area are slightly injured during surgery.  The itching sensation are those nerves regenerating.  Try moisturizing and when the itching is uncomfortable, gently rub the area. I hope that answer helps you.
