Swelling in other areas after lipo - is this normal? 1 week post-op.

Yes, swelling is typical and can last 3-6 months after your procedure. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. hello StdeptMost swelling and bruising will heal in the first 2 weeks, but can persist for up to 6-8 weeks. Patients are usually instructed to wear elastic compression garments after the surgery, the period of time will be advised by the doctor. We all like to know when our patients are having a normal post operative course.  It is important to follow up with your original surgeon and/or his staff.  I tell my patients that swelling can last even up to a month!  So, make sure you keep your follow up appointments and ask your surgeon's staff questions about your post operative course.  Develop a relationship with them and present yourself as a compliant patient.
