Tummy Tuck and leg aches 2 weeks post-op, should I be concerned?

This could be a very concerning sign and one that really needs to be brought up to your surgeon as quickly as possible.  While it may be simply stiffness, it could also be caused by a DVT in your leg which could then migrate to become a pulmonary embolism.  As the other surgeons have suggested, you need to see someone today!I hope that helps!-Gregory A Buford MD FACSBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author

Thanks for your inquiry, please discuss with you surgeon.  Honestly,  extensive study has taught us that a physical exam is unreliable at diagnosing a blood clot and a venous duplex (type of ultrasound) is the best way to know for sure, good luck.  

Thank you for submitting your question. Leg pain after tummy tuck is always a bit concerning. Fortunately,with the advances in medicine, there are very easy ways to rule out vein thrombosis. Please be sure to notify your plastic surgeon of your symptoms. This certainly deserves an evaluation and he may elect to send you for Doppler scans of your leg veins. This is simple and quick and can certainly put everyone's mind at ease.

as your symptoms are not classic for blood clots but no one wants to mess with blood clots as the risks and outcomes are too severe to simply stand by and watch more.

While there may be benign reasons for your symptoms, the dangers and risks of clots in the legs (deep vein thrombosis, or DVT) include clots travelling to the heart and lungs (pulmonary embolism or PE).These risks are potentially lethal.You must be immediately evaluated either by your surgeon or an Emergency Room.
