Hi realr29. The transition between your lower eyelid and your cheek can be treated multiple ways. Filling volume in the cheek with Juvederm Voluma or Restylane Lift will provide support to the lower lid, while improving the tear trough area. Fillers that can be placed directly into the tear trough all include off label applications, driven mostly by their smooth consistency with little tendency to swell (Juvederm volbella, restylane silk, belotero) and platelet rich plasma gel that is prepared from your own blood. An expert injector will recommend the correct product based upon your anatomy & skin. Best wishes,
Please see the following for all the options for adding volume in the tear trough area. There are both nonsurgical and surgical options available, each with pros and cons. See an oculoplastic specialist.
There are some great options to improve this area. Fillers, lasers, microneedling/PRP can all help this area. Belotero is a good filler for under the eye and I recommend using cannulas for injections to reduce complications. See an expert for a formal evaluation. Best, Dr. Emer.
The best course of action is to start with hyaluronic fillers. Restylane is the recommended and FDA approved filler of choice for this particular area. Most patients see about an 8 month correction with it. This is safe and also reversible if you find you don't like the look. Thanks for your great question.
You can consider using filler under the eye to help replace the lost volume, revealing a smoother appearance. Lasers and microneedling can add to the overall effect by improving the texture and quality of the skin beneath the eye.
Thank you for posting your question. I would recommend starting with hyaluronic fillers such as Restylane. They dissolve naturally within half a year and their effects are reversible. Once you are satisfied with the effects, you and your physician can discuss about more permanent procedures. Best of luck.
Currently, the most appropriate fillers to correct under eye circles are Belotero® and Restylane®.
Thank you for your question. The short answer are dermal fillers. A photo would be helpful, and an in-person consultation necessary to determine the most appropriate treatment for your condition. Best wishes.
Tear troughs are universal to some degree. Puffy lower eyelids can make them worse by protruding anterior to the tear troughs. This causes a shadowing effect and the so called "dark circles" that make us look more tired or older than we are. The puffy lower eyelids combined with a loss of cheek fullness, due to descent of the cheek fat pads (malar fat pads) further accentuates the tear troughs. While fillers are often recommended for these tear troughs, they are not without risks and are certainly not the only solution. Sometimes seemingly more aggressive procedures are actually less risky, and much more effective and permanent than fillers. Transfer of the puffy fat pads of the lower eyelid under the depressed tear troughs gives a very aesthetic contour of the lower eyelid/cheek region and in the right hands, can give a safer, more permanent correction. Reduction of the puffy eyelids, will give a less tired look, while filling the tear trough, will give a more youthful contour of the eyelid, cheek junction with minimum risk or down time. You have a natural and youthful appearance and cosmetic surgery (upper eyelid blepharoplasty) is not needed at this time. If you are interested in trying a non-invasive technique, then Botox may be a good choice. Botox can help the eyes appear more open and by doing so may reduce the amount of...
Impossible to help you accurately without seeing photo of your eyes. Partial eyelid surgery may be possible. See an oculoplastic specialist.
The preoperative photograph suggests that you have ptosis on both sides. If your eyelid positions have not improved beyond the appearance in your last photo, then you may wish to see another surgeon - an oculoplastic surgeon. Creases, lid position, lid contour and lash position can all be...
