Age and the diminished amount of time working out my neck muscles through singing has given me a sagging neckline/jowls. I am considering Botox injections for this area and am very concerned about the ability to sing and sing correctly (I already have vertical lip lines to upper lip, smile lift, brow lift regularly). Thank you for your advice.
Answer: Injector is key If you receive treatment from an experienced injector you should not have any issues from your Botox treatment. I encourage you to discuss your concerns with your injector and review her/his credentials and before/after photos.

Answer: Will a Botox neck lift affect my singing voice or swallowing ability? Thank you for your questions. First of all, Botox injections in the neck are used to treat superficial wrinkles and sometimes platysmal banding. These muscles are all very superficial and have no interaction with the muscles and functions involved in voice and singing. One should have no influence on the other. However, I would caution you regarding your expectations of Botox in the neck for a "Botox neck lift," because there really is no such thing. Make sure you see a plastic surgeon who is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery to discuss all your surgical and non-surgical options before proceeding with something that is not going to give you the results you really want.Hope this helps!Dallas R. Answer: Treating the neck Treatment of wrinkles in the neck area with Botox treats the superficial area of skin around the neck, and as such is incredibly unlikely to affect your singing. Given that you are also describing a concern with jowls, in addition to your neck, I wonder if you had considered an alternative treatment, Silhouette Soft? Silhouette Soft thread lifting treatment, is able to treat both the lower face and neck areas non-surgically. Treatment takes under an hour and lasts 18 months to two years. Treatment with Silhouette Soft involves re-absorbable threads which are inserted underneath the skin, and when tightened lift sagging areas immediately, in addition it also stimulates the body to create collagen, which means, in the months’ post treatment, your results will actually improve! I can also assure you that the treatment will not affect your singing as the threads are inserted superficially and will not constrict or affect the musculature in any way.

Answer: Botox in the neck will not affect your voice or ability to swallow The use of Botox in the neck is somewhat limited insofar as “lifting” is concerned. Nevertheless it is injected into the very superficial muscle of the neck, the platysma, and should not adversely affect your voice or your ability to swallow.

Answer: Botox for lifting neck? I would caution you for having high expectations for any lift associated with Botox. There will be minimal effect on the jowls and jawline using the Nefertiti lift technique. This causes less downward pull of the jawline by relaxing the platysma. If high dose are used in the mid neck by an inexperienced injector, it is possible to affect voice and swallowing. You must go to an expert for these injections.
