Dr Sugitha Seneviratne, Australian trained specialist Cosmetic Plastic Surgeon with extensive experience in cosmetic plastic surgery performs all aspects of cosmetic plastic surgery and facial injectable treatments, supported by the NorthEast Plastic Surgery team.
I recently had breast reduction surgery with Sugitha in late January. I was suffering with terrible back pain and I hated the way my breasts looked. Having this procedure was the best decision I have ever made, it has been absolutely life changing and Sugitha and her staff have been there the whole way to support me. I haven't experienced back pain in months and my chest is incredibly symmetric and very well shaped! Sugitha was lovely in every consultation and listened to all my concerns. If you are considering breast reduction surgery, please meet with Sugitha. She provided so much useful information and helped me with the fears I had. I am a new person after surgery, I finally have the confidence to wear clothes again, I no longer have rashes and crippling back and neck pain and I am eternally grateful for Sugitha and her team that made this all possible.
At the end of March last year, I had a breast reduction with Dr. Sugitha and it changed my life! Before the surgery, I consulted with three other surgeons, but none of them made me feel as comfortable as Dr. Sugitha. She has such a calming, mature energy, and you can immediately tell from her experience and career that she is exceptional. When I spoke to her about my concerns, she made me feel heard, never embarrassed or judged. I'm 28, and I've had large breasts my whole life. One was an E cup and the other was smaller (maybe a D) and saggy, which impacted my self esteem and health. We talked about my goals, and we agreed to aim for a C cup. She went over every detail of the procedure thoroughly. Before the surgery, I was a little nervous but I felt comfortable at the hospital. It was so professional, and the staff made me feel better. The surgery felt like it went in a second and recovery started. For the first couple of weeks, I focused on resting my body but honestly, I didn't feel pain just some swelling, which is normal. Now in February 2025, I still have some swelling, but the results are great, and I get swollen more around my period or specific times of my hormonal cycle. The final result is a C cup, and my body looks more symmetrical. I constantly get compliments, and I can finally wear anything which includes dresses, bikinis and i don't even wear wired bras, only bralettes. The scars have faded a lot, Helena and Sue (who work in the surgery office) had me doing LED light treatments, and I’ve been wearing sticky pads to flatten the nipple scar. By July and August, I was able to go on a trip to Europe, I wore all the bikinis I wanted to, and my shoulders no longer hurt. My confidence has improved so much since the surgery and I'm even back at the gym lifting weights which is already easier due to the relief in back pain. I can’t recommend Dr. Sugitha enough to anyone.

I started seeing Dr Sugitha Seneviratne to discuss skin removal post weight loss. As I have a number of other medical conditions, it makes me a complicated patient but she was more than willing and able to work with me for this much needed procedure. While I had a number of post operative complications, because of those pre-existing medical conditions, Sugitha and the rest of the amazing team at NorthEast Plastic Surgery handled it all wonderfully. Every issue was handled proactively and what could have become major life-threatening issues were all dealt with quickly and well before they got to that point. I cannot recommend Dr Seneviratne more highly. She and her team have all been wonderful. They work together to provide amazing care before, during and after surgery. I will be going back there if I need any further operations.

I highly recommend North East Plastic Surgery. Everyone is very professional, friendly and provide exceptional Service. From my first appointment and during recovery Sugitha Seneviratne was amazing. She provided me with everything I needed to and due to the urgency, organised surgery very quickly.
Dr Seneviratne was quick, efficient, and knoweldgeable, i was properly guided through the whole experience. The surgery went well and i healed up very quickly! I never once felt anxious during the process and would not go with anyone else.
Dr Sugitha and her team have all been highly supportive and professional throughout my process of having a bilateral breast reduction. Dr Sugitha explained things very well before the surgery and answered all of my questions patiently. I'm almost at the 5 week post op mark and very happy with the results so far, the incisions have healed up so well and are very neat. I had minimal pain afterwards, some tenderness, bruising and swelling that has been manageable with plenty of rest and Panadol. The post op care including LED light treatment has been very helpful and reassuring, thanks to Sue and Helena. If you’re considering a breast reduction, I can highly recommend booking a consult with Dr Sugitha Seneviratne.
Hi, thank you for your query and images. I agree that the aesthetic proportions of your breasts can be improved by a variety of techniques including but not limited to addressing the residual lower pole constriction on both sides, correcting the double bubble "waterfall" appearance on the right and by correcting the constriction band approximately 2 cm below the left nipple areolar complex. It is important to recognise that these suggestions are based solely on the information provided together with your images. Clinical consultation comprising a full medical history and examination by a specialist plastic surgeon experienced in cosmetic breast surgery will be essential before consideration of a surgical plan. I do not consider that fat grafting of the lower poles alone will address the issues adequately. I hope this is helpful and best wishes.
Hi, Thank you for your question and images. Following consultation, examination and potential CT scans it would be worthwhile considering open tip rhinoplasty surgery to address your nasal tip droop, create a supra tip break and to undertake the dorsal hump reduction. The aesthetic outcome can produce a smaller nose which is less projected. I would recommend clinical review by a surgeon qualified and experienced in rhinoplasty surgery so that a management plan can be tailored to your specific anatomy and aesthetic goals. Best wishes Dr Sugitha Seneviratne
Hi, In order to safely undergo elective surgery, all parameters including your haemoglobin should be optimised. The reason is that while rhinoplasty surgery is not typically associated with significant blood loss, should you bleed (typically in the context of osteotomies), your baseline haemoglobin will be low and your ability to tolerate the blood loss will be compromised. In general terms, haemoglobin in excess of 10 would be considered acceptable but this should be determined by your surgeon on a case by case basis taking into account the presence of co-morbidities including heart disease. Review by a physician prior to surgery to optimise you pre operatively for surgery may be worthwhile. Best wishes Dr Sugitha Seneviratne
Hi, The lump on your nose may be structural (such as cartilage) or soft tissue in nature ( typically fatty tissue) but the fact that it appears to be growing suggests that potential tumours (whilst uncommon) should be excluded. I would recommend consulting your General Practitioner in the first instance for a referral to a Plastic Surgeon experienced in both rhinoplasty and facial tumour resection surgery for consultation, scans and potential tissue diagnosis to establish the basis of the lump. The techniques used in rhinoplasty surgery and lump removal may be utilised to remove your lump in isolation. If you are also seeking to undergo nose reshaping, rhinoplasty surgery may be appropriate. Best wishes Dr Sugitha Seneviratne
Hi, The bases for the appearance of your nasal bridge will depend on when your procedure was performed and what technique was used, in particular if osteotomies were performed. In general terms, initial swelling after primary rhinoplasty surgery can be due to oedema (fluid in the soft tissues) or scar formation. These factors will typically improve over the course of 6 to 12 months and sometimes even over 18 months. At NorthEast Plastic Surgery, we therefore advise patients during weekly post operative consultations for 6-8 weeks in order to manage swelling with oedema control strategies and scar management advice, including the use of LED therapy. If osteotomies were not performed by your surgeon, the width of the nasal bridge may be anatomical and due to the failure to narrow the nasal bones. It might be worthwhile seeking your operative records to establish whether or not this procedure was performed during your surgery. Best wishes Dr Sugitha Seneviratne
