How to fix vertical line that appeared after Restylane Kysse lip filler? (Photos)

Hi there, I've been getting my lips filled for years, the last few times with restylane. About 6 months my regular doctor filled them once again with restylane kiss. I developed a vertical line above the left side of my upper lip as you can see in the pictures. As the filler wore off over months, the vertical line became smaller, but never disappeared. reversible, and reappears larger every time my lips get refilled. Can you tell me what happened? It's as if a tunnel seemed to have been created from that day forward that gets bigger or smaller depending on how much filler is in there. Is there any way to fix this?

Thank you for your question. Without examining you in person, it is difficult to tell what exactly may offer you the smoothest, most natural looking results. I suggest that you schedule an appointment with your current doctor and ask them what you could do to smooth the line that is bothering you. They can recommend options from filler in additional areas to neuromodulators or laser skin tightening treatments. Best of luck!

I recommend fillers to soften the nasolabial folds themselves and also lift around the mouth and cheeks to build underlying anatomical support. In our practice we combine Sculptra with other fillers "layered" on top and lasers, skin tightening treatments such as Thermage, Fractora, and Renuvion (J Plasma), thread lifting,  and peels to get the most conservative, natural look. It looks like you are lacking support around the lips. When you fill your lips, the valley between your lips and cheeks gets larger and creates that crease. I would suggest cheek filler to help lift the cheek a bit and decrease the amount of nasolabial fold and tissue in that area. You can also fan filler above the lip to support that area and fill in the crease.
