Circumferential tummy tuck? Standard? Extended? Fleur de lis? (photos)

Question

I’ve been quoted for a circumferential tummy tuck for a 100lb weight loss but I think my legs are pretty decent (I wear size 4 maternity so that it fits my belly/skin as well as my legs) Would a standard or even fleur de lis be an option that would meet my needs? I have a nice hour glass figure under there that I’d like to be able to see. Would a different type of tummy tuck be priced differently? Higher/lower? I also have a LOT of side boob which is very important to me to be gone.

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs and congratulations on your impressive weight loss.  Depending on your goals, it appears that an extended tummy tuck with liposuction of your back, waist, and flanks would provide you with a nice improvement in your overall body silhoutte.  Hope this helps.

You do not need a fleur de lis.  You would benefit from a standard or extended tummy tuck.  The technique I recommend is abdominoplasty with mesh reinforcement, if you are not planning future pregnancies.  The mesh creates a more hourglass figure by compressing the abdominal wall resulting in early satiety and helps maintain a reduced weight.  After this, you can consider whether you want liposuction or perhaps a circumferential extension if you are dissatisfied with the lateral and posterior aspect of your body.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Congratulations on your weight loss, that an impressive achievement. It looks like you'd have a very nice result with an extended tummy tuck with liposuction and lipo shaping of your flank areas and the area above your buttocks. I dont think you need a fleur de lis. I never want to add any additional scars for my patients unless they're truly necessary. As far as the tissue lateral to your breasts, its difficult to determine based on the photos but the options to treat that area is either liposuction alone or an upper body lift.

Also, congrats on your amazing weight loss. You seem to primarily have skin laxity in the abdominal area which would best be addressed with an extended tummy tuck. If you had significant laxity in the hip and buttocks then doing the circumferential Lift would make a dramatic improvement l. The contour of your waist and bra rolls will be dramatically improved with liposuction. I would not recommend a fleur de lis because it is unnecessary and will add a very visible vertical scar. This next phase in your transformation is exciting and the best reward for all of your hard work. Depending on the PS, you will get different opinions. I would perform the standard TT with muscle plication +/- liposuction of the flanks. You will continue to lose weight after the TT.  Give  yourself  9-12 months to see your result and then decide if a posterior belt lipectomy with liposuction of the back would be appropriate. Doing  it this way may afford the PS a better opportunity to adjust/improve upon your TT.

First of all congratulations on losing the weight. 100 lbs is not a small number and your body looks great after that weight loss.
Although an examination in person would provide much more needed information your pictures show that you are a good candidate for a tummy tuck and liposuction to help sculpt your body into the shape you desire to gain. At the very least, you would do well with an extended tummy tuck and I believe that a circumferential tummy tuck will give you superior results.
A Fleur-de-Lis tummy tuck would place a vertical scar on your belly that I do not believe is worth it in your case. Based on your photos, it looks like you can achieve excellent results without the Fleur-de-Lis tummy tuck.
The different types of tummy tucks are quoted differently and will usually be higher in price as the level of difficulty increases.
Your pictures show that you have some droopiness and flattening of your buttocks. Extending the incision to the back may help lift the buttocks and give you a more pleasing contour to compliment the hour-glass shape you seek. Depending on what look exactly you desire, you may want to consider some fat grafting to the buttocks. 
To address the excess tissues in your side boob and mid back, you would need an additional type of surgery. This may include a combination of liposuction with skin and soft tissue excision.
All these topics should be discussed with your plastic surgeon during your consultation. 
Be sure to seek a consultation with a board-eligible or board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in aesthetic plastic surgery and be sure they address all your concerns about liposuction, tummy tuck, excess "side boob", including the risks and benefits of the procedures, recovery time and postoperative course. You should clearly express your goals and desires so that your plastic surgeon can understand them and develop an adequate surgical plan to achieve them.
I believe a key component of the consultation is to establish a good connection with your plastic surgeon. If you don’t feel you have a good connection after your consultation then they may not be the best surgeon for you.
