Will waiting longer between Sculptra injections negate my end results?

Question

I’ve had 2 vials of Sculptra in my temples. I plan to have 2 more for my second and then 1 more for my 3 rd ( I’m 42) and ask her to place some in my upper cheek. . My provider had me schedule my second appointment 8 weeks out and suggested adding microneedling with PRP. I now need to push it off another 2 weeks due to scheduling conflicts from the downtime from the microneedling. Will this extra 2 weeks hinder my end results? Would It be better to break the 2 procedures up? Thank you.

Increasing the gap between Sculptra treaments will not effect the eventual results. Every Sculptra treatment adds a certain amount of collagen to your face and is not effected by the subsequent injections.RegardsDr. J

No, this is unlikely to negatively impact your results. Sculptra is a great product for improving facial volume and collagen building, but for best results, I recommend using it in a combination depending on desired results. I combine Sculptra with other fillers, lasers, toxins and skin care to give immediate results. See an expert. Sculptra is a fantastic injection and the earliest you can have treatments is one month apart.  I would definitely not be concerned with waiting a few months in between treatments.  The only down side is that you won't have the full results as soon.  Please consult a board certified dermatologist who is an expert in Sculptra injections for the best cosmetic results. Thank you for your question. It is a good question that I am often asked. The timing between treatments with Sculptra is a range of weeks to months depending on the person being treated and how many times they have been treated before. My usual recommendation for the initial 3-4 treatments is 4-12 weeks apart depending on the age of the patient and their amount of volume loss. Sculptra causes collagen growth that can be layered with treatments over time. Adding other treatments is easily done with no problem. I often do multiple treatment modalities on patients the same day of their Sculptra treatment.

It is typical to space Sculptra treatments 6 to 8 weeks apart, as Sculptra Aesthetic is a Non-HA (Hyaloronic Acid) Biostimulatory Filler that stimulates your own native collagen, resulting in volume augmentation over time. Therefore, the delay in between treatments will just take you longer to get to your desired result, but it will also allow more time for your own body to stimulate collagen from the first 2 vials you received. There is no reason why you cannot do the microneedling and the PRP on the same day you do the Sculptra, preferably after the Sculptra, but that is entirely up to the Practitioner doing the treatment. This really varies from doctor to doctor. The company recommends a minimum of 4 weeks. Many of us around the country who have been using this product for many years, are stretching those intervals out. In our office, we will often go 6-10 weeks between treatments 1 and 2 and 8-12 weeks between treatment 2 and 3, example. But again, there are reasonable differences on these times even among experts.
