Can a Doctor Repair Cut Muscles in Forehead After a Lift?

Question

When I had my forehead lift done several years ago, he cut muscle, but, it looks weird because I have some movement in lower portion of my forehead, but, none in the top portion and it looks really strange when I life my brows at all unless I do botox, which I don't want to do because I am an actress. Is it possible to reconnect the muscles somehow? Thank you

If during a coronal brow lift the frontalis muscle was windowed by means of scision of rectangular portions this can't be restored.

It is unlikely that anything further can be done after several years. Of course it would be instructive to read the operative report to see if muscles were just cut or actually removed. But in either case, I can't think of anything that would restore movement to your upper forehead.

It is difficult to answer this question without having seen and examined you. But a muscle repair after several years of surgery is very unlikely to work, since the muscle fibers retracted. Having Botox injected to your forehead making the transition to the upper forehead less drastic and in a way that you still will have some facial expression seems not to be such a bad option.Best of luckBianca Knoll,MD Frankfurt

Forehead muscles that have been cut, detached or avulsed after a browlift can not be repaired secondarily. All you can do is to reduce the undesired residual muscle movement with continued Botox injections.

Really the short answer is no, the muscles cannot be repaired. It may be possible for additional muscle to be removed, which may created a more uniform look. Similar to what you are accomplishing with Botox. Hope this helps. Good luck.
